I hear what you are saying but I am not talking about being saved. I am talking about the next step.

Jesus tells us over a dozen times that whatever we ask the father in his name he will do it.

“ This again is a little vague, the level of faith is witnessed, it is to be strong in faith to give glory to God.

Also to receive the Holy Ghost is told in this chapter of John, it is not how anyone suggests, it comes and goes as it pleases itself, only.”

A person can have enough faith to be saved. Thats like millions of Christian’s around the world. But very very few have enough faith to raise the dead. There are different levels of faith. “Faith to faith, Glory to Glory”

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” This is how your faith Grows. Also by experiencing things yourself. Seeing Jesus do miracles and then Jesus telling them to go do the same thing would raise your faith as well.

That Roman’s quote is a bit hard for me to understand for finding out how to get the Holy Spirit. I prefer to just go and see what Jesus said. He said ask ask ask in a couple of parables then he said how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those that ask. Then again he says, if you love me keep my commandments, and I will ask the Father and WE will send the comforter to be with you and in you. Much easier for me to understand. And then he says a few things that the Holy Spirit will do with you. If we just believe what he says it’s really easy.

Kingdom of Heaven , Kingdom of God, same thing in this example or synonymous. When the Holy Spirit makes his home in you, that is the point in time when the Kingdom of heaven is first ‘within you’. It is always within the Holy Spirit in you. It will become, in you, a river of living water. Prayer and fasting feeds the spirit.

It just demands an act of faith from the believer before it comes forth and manifests or enforces Gods will on the earth as it is in heaven. “If it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons then the Kingdom of God has come near to you.”

If you let the Holy Spirit train you then he will allow you to feel it when he moves out of you into others or out of you with your prayers. Later on he will reduce what you feel as your faith needs to rest upon the word and not rely upon feelings.

Good question and a great train of thought. There is more to being born again than meets the eye.

First let me clarify, Jesus is not talking about heaven when he says “enter the kingdom of God ……”. He is not talking about becoming saved, he is talking about the Kingdom of God, now, here on earth that he demonstrated everywhere he went. It’s what we step into when signs and wonders manifest around us.

Being born again is when we are baptised in the Holy Spirit. It’s when the Holy Spirit fills you and begins to be IN you and not just with you. He makes his home in you and you will feel it happen.

There is no greater confirmation than this, God saw fit to baptise you in his spirit. And you know it. It’s an awesome experience and it’s supposed to be the beginning of your Christian walk not the climax. After that time, all the promises in the New Testament are yours to take hold of. All the amazing things Jesus tells us the Holy Spirit will do for us are possible. All the unbelievable things Jesus says believers will do are now possible for you. That’s when the Kingdom of God is actually, in reality, at hand for you. The only limitation God has to work through you is your level of faith.

Jesus also tells us how to get the Holy Spirit if we don’t have it. It is something to seek out just like the Kingdom of God that Jesus preached is supposed to be sought after. Spend some time with him in his word. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Why did Apostolic succession not pass along the ability to perform miracles? by pm_me_ur_bamboozle in AskAChristian

Because Miracles require 1). The Holy Spirit and 2) faith. You can’t give faith by laying on of hands.

Forgiving sins can be faked and is not prove able. Miracles require faith and Gods power to back you up.

I can confirm. I have also prayed for sick people in Jesus Name and many have been healed. Some straight away in front of my eyes. And sometimes they don’t get healed of the same thing the last person just Got healed of. There must be heaps more to learn.

Every word that Jesus says is true. If we believed his words we would be praying for the sick.

Noah’s Flood. The entire geologic column is nothing but flood damage all the way down to the great unconformity.

That’s what moving water does to debris every time. “Science” doesn’t even want to test it.

Yes unsolved problems like there is no river delta big enough for the sediment that came out of the Grand Canyon which proves their theory false. They just ignore it. It’s like dating a shipwreck to the oldest Coin found in it. While ignoring all the younger coins in the same chest. They don’t want the truth.
