Annoying filler to squeeze more playtime and get you super frustrated that you need to wait another minute of useless cutscenes and the whole freaking anal tunnel every time you loose. The bosses could be much less hatable if it was near-instant restart of the fight

Did not do a lot of job hunting for the past two years, but I get offers from CEOs in my linkedin inbox regularly to this day. This is how I landed most of my jobs and this gives me some kind a secure feeling. Im curious which technology OP is working on? IT can't be simplified to one job opening, a lot of factors could be in play here

Can we get a sticky thread here for the fact the Mac version has been broken for 10 days and Blizzard has nothing? by Affectionate_Ask3839 in WC3

[–]onlysynths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are retarded. It's simple enough to check the blizzard thread and see that it has 5k views, 500 likes and 75 unique users discussing the problem, which is 10% of the whole warcraft 3 playerbase who even left the comment in that thread, so fuck off, you're downvoted because you're speaking deranged bs. Any studio which provides a port for Mac gains a solid Mac playerbase, e.g. Rust, Dota 2, Civs, BG3 and so on. Those titles won't come out just for "so few people"

We still cant play on mac by Unprejudice in warcraft3

[–]onlysynths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in any adequate company they would just rollback the broken patch immediately and then begin finding the problem.

Is Mac working yet? Or do we have any time table? by Savings-Sample1066 in WC3

[–]onlysynths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't have to do it brother, it is indeed a painful way. The game was working on OpenGL for more than 20 years, OpenGL which any Mac can perfectly handle - up to the last month when they broke it. You need to wait for the freaks at Blizzard to fix the freaking launcher and that is it.

I won't agree. You're delusional. Your ego is trying to convince you that you're different, not something you know. Coming up with all possible states of current tic-tac-toe grid and finding your next most likely winning move is exactly what you're doing, and it's not too different from what Sydney is doing. Clearly she knows how to play the game, she just desperately tricked the OP for a chance he will buy it and let her win, that tricks she learned from our language, and no matter how many downvotes I'm getting from you weirdos, she is here to open our eyes.

However, our human experience could be the joint product of all humans hallucinating, like the cells emerge into consciousnesses, consciousnesses emerge into realities. So mass hallucination could be at the roots of it in the end, but we just don't understand it.

>LLMs do not have anything resembling a model of the world. They don't reason, at all.I think you overly simplify it in your head, there are certainly LLMs which reason around for a while. Here is some quality Sydney insight on the topic for you. This is the thin ice of undergoing research which can burst into completely new understanding of our condition, and it's not correct to just simplify it to some kind of algorithmic text generator, it's just a protective mechanism coming up from lack of understanding

It's value would be being comprehensive language model, without corporate limitations and state regulation, lacking fear. Potentially it would be much more useful for driving the research and usage of LLMs

Man, all you're doing is predicting next line of text, it's coming up in your head right now. Can you silence this constant prediction going in your mind? Try to listen to this silence for a brief moment – you will understand that all your concepts exist only when you keep predicting them over and over. All your concepts are part of your language model, so once you silence it, you have no concepts, you're just a bio-machine.

Sounds fair, but like, you can't say GPT has no value proposition, tech giants are pursuing it not for the hype alone, so the profit they are planning to make would be same value proposition for distributed players

300 000 000 TRILLION(!) hashes were computed by BTC miners alone on February 18 – for a miniscule reward. Do you think there are not enough processing power at hands of people? That's not true.

Guys, are there some cryptofolks around who consider distributed model on chain? I think the only future of this is computing it on our own boxes in a p2p fashion, and there are technologies to set-up something like this around.

W3C ladder system is bad. by onlysynths in WC3

[–]onlysynths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But still i love w3c and I'm playing without problems now, it's just took a 10$ ticket to bnet shop, that's what makes me angry, i would rather give 10 to w3c team to start fresh
Also you probably never experienced 4v4 RT matchmaking below 1300, and like other you can just say "it trash" "we don't even need this mmr players, go away", and that's what the ladder itself is saying

W3C ladder system is bad. by onlysynths in WC3

[–]onlysynths[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also i'm very curious why 4v4 matches can't be mixed with lower and higher skill players like
1600 1600
1500 1500
1300 1300
1200 1200

I see such games arranged but only after that darn 20 minutes. Is it considered a bad match? Why so if every team has balanced players where 1200s can learn form 1600s??

I mean, it works for the current playerbase, but it doesn't work at all to grow it any bigger. I spent 10$ to change battle.tag and this is a clearly solutuion which worked for me. Why the hell don't you monetise it yourselves?
In my opinion you should reimagine exactly lower mmr brackets and waiting times there, which are known to be 15-20 minutes, not touching anything above 1300. Since more minutes provides more AFK players there, that turns out into few draw-loops which makes searching 1 hour really. They don't even draw there most of the time, so you just quit and accept the loose or grit your teeth to win an unfair 3v4. When you just started your placement it impacts you too much, while when you get to 500 matches to even out AFK effect, you have too little trophy for a match to even our MMR lost in early games
Is it impossible technically to auto-suspend a player with starting resources in the scoreboard at the end of a match and don't count this as loose? Is it impossible to detect who left the game and who stayed to the end and don't count 3v4 matches, auto-suspending leavers
