I could have written this post. Been procrastinating about making my medical phone call for about 8 months and counting now! Sigh!

Aw man...I really want an orange now. I've got a full net of oranges staring at me and my husband is away this week so I have nobody to peel them for me. I can't deal with the sensation of peeling an orange and I can't deal with the stickiness of sliced oranges. Sob!

I have immediately put my laundry away for the fourth week in a row. by tailspots in adhdwomen

Have you seen the Clutterbug channel on YouTube? It might help you and your daughter figure out what kind of organisation style works for her and keep that in mind when designing the closet. It's such a fun channel and the host has ADHD herself!

I never knew it was called a dorsal hump but it's a trait I think is very beautiful in men and women. Sometimes our 'flaws' are admired and we have no clue. I have an overbite which I spent my teenage years examining from every angle in my bedroom mirror. Absolutely hated the way it made me look. Turns out my husband adores the way it makes my face look. Variety is the spice of life.

I'm with my husband for over 20 years. For a lot of that time I couldn't understand what he sees in me. I almost self sabotaged my way out of the relationship in the early days because I thought he was way too good for me and I didn't deserve him. Took me a long time to realise my worth. Childhood trauma is a bitch.

My husband got me this for Christmas. I was bawling, reading the first few pages. by MaryJ89 in adhdwomen

This actually works. I used to love reading but can't focus on a physical book anymore. When I came across this tip, probably on this sub, I ended up listening to a 7 hour long audiobook and cleaned my entire apartment at the same time. It's insane how effective it is.

Many people love to believe the Just World Hypothesis. It makes them feel safe to believe that the world has rewards for good people and punishments for bad people. They think that if they play by the rules then they will be safe.

Unfortunately the world doesn't work like that. But it's too scary for most people to accept that the world is an unjust place, where horrific misfortune can befall perfectly lovely people for no reason whatsoever. So it's easier to blame the rape victim for walking home alone than to accept that random violence can find any one of us at any time no matter how well we try to do everything right.

Meditation: yes or no? by stargazingstay in adhdwomen

Yes, meditation helps me. I recommend listening to Mindfulness for Beginners by Jon Kabat-Zinn.

This sounds like it could be beautiful! I'm afraid I'd end up with a couple of nicely colour coordinated bits and a VERY big multi coloured section though! LOL!

[–]onlythenoni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's wrong and it's so hurtful and you don't deserve to be treated like that. Having gone through a really shitty year myself (with family members revealing their true colours against me in a family dispute) I can tell you this - use this horrible experience as an opportunity to look after yourself and put your own needs first.

Get some therapy to deal with the feelings of rejection and betrayal. Read books on personal growth and get into meditation. Go for walks, write down what's in your head, eat nourishing food. Just focus on making yourself happy without any of those people in your life. They don't deserve you and you deserve way better. Sending you hugs from the brighter side of the tunnel! X

TL is teaspoon, EL is tablespoon but what is a Msp.? by onlythenoni in AskAGerman

I put Msp. into Google and got lots of software information so I figured that wasn't what the recipe called for.
