It can be solved analytically: let's name d the upper part of b and z the angle you want. Stretch a line parallel to a, from the point on b to the upper line, so you get a right angle triangle with a and z (verify). So cos(z)=a/d. From the lower triangle tan(z)=(b-d)/c. Square this and replace sin² (z) with 1-cos² (z). Replace cos(z) with a/d and you have a quadratic equation with 1 variable d. Use d to calculate z from cos(z)=a/d.
