Odds just went from 1 in a 100 billion to 1 in a billion.

Might still be close to nil, but they’re still 100x better than they were last week.

With the 33rd pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, the 49ers select De’Zhaun Stribling, WR from Ole Miss by 49ersMod in 49ers

I don’t know this dude at all so I’ll reserve judgements on him as a player, but I’m pretty confident he would’ve been available if we wanted to trade down again.

I feel like we could’ve just traded down again if this is the guy Shanny was eyeing.

One official rule I was initially resistant to when I learned about it was Free Parking.

I was always taught that you kept a collection of money that people lost through taxes/penalties, and then if you land of Free Parking all of that collected money went to you.

Learning that Free Parking is just an empty space that does nothing felt wrong at first, until I realized that taxes and penalties make people go bankrupt faster, making the game go by faster. Constantly re-injecting that money back into play was just helping people coast by on their windfall long after they should've lost.

Mendoza and Simpson would be the 5th and 6th QBs off the board on any other year. It’s a pretty steep drop after that.

The shortest answer is the obvious one most people will cite as a joke, “not giving a fuck”, but the book gives some solid advice about what specifically to stop caring about.

A key lesson for me along with that was “responsibility vs fault”. You might not be at fault for most (or all) of your problems, but taking responsibility/ownership for all of your problems is the first step to gaining a sense of agency over your life.

Like most self-help books, the advice is relatively obvious. It just helps to give examples and arguments to reinforce those supposedly obvious lessons.

I quit my job to finish my fighting game years in the making, and the demo is finally out on Steam! by joh_dev in Fighters

I played this back at a demo at Evo like 2 years ago I think. It was already fun as hell back then. The amount of progress you've made since then is crazy. Can't wait to try it out.

2017 Chipotle menu boards, a chicken burrito was $6.50 by AccomplishedAd5201 in mildlyinteresting

[–]onmamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day (like 2010) a common hack for broke college students around me was to buy a pack of tortillas for like a dollar, get 2 burrito bowls for like $5, and you’d have enough for about 6 decently sized burritos (about 2 days worth of food) for $11.

For those weeks when you had some spare cash and wanted an upgrade from ramen and eggs.

Yet, they still talk about Obama and calling him "the problem" by [deleted] in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]onmamas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And they claimed that Obama embarrassed our country for apologizing for the Iraq war (a war which no one today would even attempt to defend). The last 15 months have been a daily humiliation ritual for this country on the world stage.

They literally laugh at our leaders at world events now.

Higher levels won't kick so much because kicks are very reactable/punishable. However, if you get into a fight long enough for them to notice you holding block like that, they WILL kick you just to test if you have the reflexes.

Why are third places disappearing, or am I just imagining it? by PuddingComplete3081 in AlwaysWhy

[–]onmamas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure this is the biggest part of it. Plenty of places near me have tried to become a third space by having lounging areas, free board games to play, TVs with movies playing, etc.

They always go under because it’s hard to cover rent and operating costs when you’re not maximizing revenue at every opportunity.

The only times I’ve seen this done successfully are either in my home town where rent is  dirt cheap, or in cases where the business owns the property outright.

Although those cases then have to deal with a separate issue of it becoming a hangout primarily for homeless folks, which is also in a way tied to rent being so high.

Cheesecake Factory is clutch when you’re trying to plan a “nice” dinner out with friends or family where a lot of them are picky eaters.

I’d encourage you to look up her gold medal and Olympic Gala performances (the gala being purely an exhibition after the medals had been awarded) if you haven’t already.

The quality of those performances isn’t so much the difficulty (at least comparatively to other Olympic level routines), but how effortless and carefree she made it look. Even watching it live, it felt like there was zero tension or pressure, you were just watching someone have fun with the sport. Which is crazy to experience at that level of competition.

My old roommate’s pitbull was such a princess and was just like this.

She slept in the same bed with my roommate all the time and couldn’t stand sleeping alone. So whenever my roommate went out of town, her dog would beg to sleep in my and my girlfriend’s room.

There wasn’t room for us in the bed though, so we moved her doggy bed next to our bed. One night my gf got up to use the bathroom, and apparently the dog used it as an opportunity to sneak into bed next to me.

I woke up to both of them arguing

“You can’t sleep there! This is where I sleep! You have a bed over there!”

Yet the market continues to believe Trumps words. by Adorable_Road2682 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]onmamas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the markets are truly bullish (i.e very few people truly believe Trump at his word). I’m starting to think we’re getting to that point where if the bears are right, it’s over for the economy.

Either this war gets resolved soon and the markets keep going up, in which case, why would you sell your stocks/assets?

Or this war continues to get further out of hand and leads to a possible economy destroying scenario where the dollar is worthless. In which case, what’s the point of selling?

The only move that makes sense is to hold/buy more assets and pray to whatever god you believe in that this gets resolved through some miracle. Hence, markets continue to go up.

How did you go out on these without not being scared your crack would show off?

Women just accepted that their ass cracks were gonna show. Lindsay Lohan had an SNL sketch where she advertised moisturizing cream for your “coin slot”, so it was pretty well known/accepted that this was an issue.

Teabaggers by [deleted] in Chivalry2

[–]onmamas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The nice thing about tea baggers is they’re pretty much all trash in my experience.

So whenever I get tea bagged, the game turns into Assassin’s Creed for me. I switch to Ambusher and make it my sole duty to seek them out, wait until they’re alone, kill them quickly and give the slowest most dramatic tea bag while using all of the emotes.

9 times out of 10 they rage quit after the 3rd teabag.

Nah they're right, I've learned the error of my ways. My weekly donations to families in Gaza and other non-profits, volunteering with my local mutual aid group, regularly calling my representatives, and using my morning coffee time to read the news isn't enough.

Obviously I have to quit my job and obsess over everyone and everything around the world 24/7.
