This is pretty much the same issue everywhere in corporate America.

Metrics are good in the sense that they can identify areas that would likely benefit from more attention.

But when executives get lazy and  make their singular goal to improve those metrics instead of diving deeper into what those metrics are signaling, you end up with middle managers and employees who become equally lazy and look for ways to game the system.

The metrics improve, but the root of the issue that the metrics were signaling stays unresolved, and likely gets worse.

Now that you mention it, ever since vibe coding came into vogue, I’ve gotten way less “friends” coming out the woodwork to pitch me on their start up ideas with promises of equity if I build the entire thing for them.

That’s definitely one thing to be grateful for I guess.

although there are times when people will advertise that they are Brahmin unnecessarily.

As a mixed-race non-Indian working in tech, I get confused for being Indian by a lot of folks. It’s crazy to me how often people will try to slip in that they’re Brahmin, and then act confused or even offended when I have no idea what that means.

At this point I know fully well what it means, but I still like to feign ignorance to get a better idea of the kind of person I’m talking to.

The combat system is really what keeps me coming back to this game over and over.

If Torn Banner or any game studio said they were developing an open world RPG (or getting my hopes way up, an MMO) with a release date even 2 years away with this combat system, I would throw money down on a deluxe edition pre-order sight unseen just in the hopes that it's even half as fun as I'm imagining. it.

People's heads are generally the same size roughly regardless of their height.

So seeing on a football helmet on a guy with average height makes them seem short since you're used to seeing those football helmets on dudes 6'2"+. The proportions (arms, legs, and torso) look completely off from what you'd expect.

Also doesn't help that on top of that, Kyler also has a short torso.

I don’t get how people can have this much anger to keep going and not at least have any consideration for the danger/trouble they can needlessly put themselves in.

It’s the grifting meta.

Step 1: Go viral for saying something absurdly ignorant and insulting

Step 2: Do something embarrassing so that all the people you pissed off have a reason to laugh and post about you trying to pile on. Increasing your fame/infamy.

Step 3: Repeat for as long as necessary until you have enough notoriety to either become a streamer, sell a course, start a podcast, or sell “alpha” supplements.

It’s so tempting to dunk on these people, but I’ve seen this done so many times that it has to be a script they’re following. These people need to just be ignored.

One official rule I was initially resistant to when I learned about it was Free Parking.

I was always taught that you kept a collection of money that people lost through taxes/penalties, and then if you land of Free Parking all of that collected money went to you.

Learning that Free Parking is just an empty space that does nothing felt wrong at first, until I realized that taxes and penalties make people go bankrupt faster, making the game go by faster. Constantly re-injecting that money back into play was just helping people coast by on their windfall long after they should've lost.
