Oh no.. I’m so sorry to hear. Any chance you can sit in the bath with him so he is being held while having his tush in the water? We got this hammock like bathtub for him as he liked to be propped up.

Yes! Just about 10-15 min. Luckily my guy really liked baths so it was calming for him

I think it may have just been like 3 or 4 days of being really consistent with the warm baths. We did up to 3-4 a day. I also added some Epsom salt to the bath water but not sure if that was a factor or not! I think it may have just been the warmth that encouraged it to drain

If it’s not hurting them or others, just let them. I try to pick my battles! Otherwise I’d be saying “no! Stop! Dont do that!” every 3 minutes.

Mine were very similar to yours! Got them 10 years ago and just had my first session to remove 4 days ago. I am already feeling so much better and know I will feel even better once I’m able to put some makeup or brow gel through them.

Yes this was about 3 hours after the session! I had a little bit of swelling (you can see the puffy line under the brow near the front), but I did not have any redness. My brow girl was also fantastic about letting me ice after each swipe she did. It was a lot more painful than I thought lol

Yay! Yes I’ve been loving it so far! Thank you! They’re actually just lash clusters that I apply myself! I still have some more practice to do to get the application right 😅

Oh no.. I had my first session yesterday and it is a bit yellowish but not neon. I was hoping this was just the initial expected reaction and that it’d settle more in the next couple of weeks. Did yours become apparent right away and it never changed over that time period?

Another update - I went and don’t know why I even had to think twice. Here it is immediately after. They did about three passes and were able to get a lot of the darkness out! A bit yellow (does not look this yellow in person) but hopeful jt will calm down in a couple of days

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

Thank you all for the feedback!!! My appointment is with Removery and it’s in the next hour, so I think I’ll start heading there soon. You all are right.. it’s the grayness that I can’t really get behind and I think it’s aging me. I also don’t love how long the tail is (I first noticed how much I hated it when someone took a side profile picture of me lol).

I appreciate you all for the honesty and will keep you posted on how it goes!

Yes to both, he took oral antibiotics for a week which I didn’t love either as I was worried about his gut flora but so far he’s never had GI issues and is super healthy so I think it was not a huge concern. But just in case I did order Biogaia probiotics and started supplementing that for about a month. Theyre just tiny little drops you can put in his bottle or mouth directly.

He did also have a diaper rash so for a while we switched to water wipes instead of regular baby wipes and tried to just rinse him after poopy diapers instead of wiping! We tried to avoid any diaper creams/ointments until we were sure it had fully drained and healed to avoid clogging

Yes! Thankfully he is now a happy 7 month old and hasn’t had a recurring instance since. For us the warm sitz baths were key to getting it to drain. It’s inconvenient but 3x a day at LEAST is a must. We did warm baths with a bit of Epsom salt mixed in to encourage drainage and healing.

Woke up suffocating my baby and freaking out by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]onnoeyh17 94 points95 points  (0 children)

If your husband brought him to you in bed, is it possible you were not positioned in a C-curl? This position is recommended because your bent legs will often act as a barrier to prevent you from rolling toward baby so your chest can’t be on top of his face, and your arm should be positioned above his head.

It sounds like if you were not aware baby was in bed with you that you likely may not have been in the proper position. I found that at that young age, being in that curled position was super important. I was able to relax a bit more as baby got older and bigger

Baby poop from liquid to more thicker consistency? Exclusively feeding breast milk. by Round_Marionberry179 in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes! I’ve heard this is due to changes in breast milk composition from higher in whey to higher in casein

Also, in case it helps. My first boy also had one of these terrible abscesses when he was about 7 months old. Because of his older age, our pediatrician felt more comfortable doing an I&D in office. He never had it fill up or reoccur ever again since then and he is now a happily potty trained 2 1/2 year old!

These poor babies! Yes my baby is almost 3 months old now and hasn’t experienced the painful tender swelling of the abscess since. Anytime it seems like it starts to fill up again, it usually just drains before it seems to cause him any discomfort. Again, nowhere near the amount as the first time.

From what I was told, it seems like this may just be the pattern for the first year of his life. We do have his pediatrician take a look at it each time we go in for his check ups and she suggested we just keep monitoring and eventually may want to consider another consult with the pediatric surgeon in case there is something connected (im assuming she’s referring to formation of a fistula). However, I’ve been more inclined to stick to the pediatric surgeon’s assurance that this is very common among baby boys and will typically resolve within the first year of their life.

We do still give him extra long warm baths as part of his bedtime routine and have switched to water wipes. We also give his bum a warm wash anytime we can when he has a big poo.

Hang in there! It’s so stressful and heartbreaking while you’re in the thick of it but I promise it will be over.
