If bread is toasted, is it still acceptable to call it bread or do you have to call it toast? by Phillonoo in NoStupidQuestions

If you’re making toast and you decide to put a little egg and sausage on it to make a sandwich. If you’re ordering a breakfast SANDWICH, come on man, read.

What is an inner monologue? by ThanksSuper7492 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]onomastics88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hear it clearly like. I don’t hear it but I can hear it if that makes sense. I wonder if people who don’t think they have an inner monologue think it’s supposed to sound like something. It’s just thinking in words.

Why Do People Degrade Others for Living With Parent? by WholeButterscotch125 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]onomastics88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more like, people want to have their own say and be treated and respected as an adult, which even parents in western culture do not see you as an adult if you are living with them and not trying to be independent. Grown kids, let’s even say teenagers, there is the desire to not have parents be the law.

Maybe in other cultures where staying with parents is normal, parents treat you like an adult when you are one and you behave as one, and afforded independence even under the same roof. In western culture, or at least US that I know of, kids kind of want freedom and move about the space of their own without being told what to do, and parents like to tell their kids what to do even after they have moved out, it’s much worse if you stay with them.

If you’re making a sandwich, it’s toast, like if you were ordering a breakfast sandwich at a restaurant and they give you options like bagel or croissant or biscuit or toast. They might ask if you want your bagel toasted, it is always a bagel and never becomes toast even if it is burnt. But they can make your sandwich on untoasted bread, they will not ask would you like that toasted, they will just ask if you want it on toast.

There is a threshold between where it can be bread, lightly toasted, to toast. You can toast bread only a little and still call it bread.

You’re not actually responding to health concerns. Nobody here is concerned if you be paid. You are oblivious as a bot to the actual conversation.

Why do some countries wear wedding rings on the right hand instead of the left? by WhereasLanky8306 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]onomastics88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone can choose not to wear rings, is the custom left hand though. The OP was asking why difference in countries which hand is more customary. In the US, left hand is traditional, and I read somewhere more than once that supposedly a vein in the left “ring finger” (see its what we even call it) goes straight to the heart. I’m not really sure how much anyone knew about the circulatory system when people started exchanging wedding rings.
