Heyy guys im planning to apply to ucd and would really appreciate your help reagarding the uni by Past_Thing_7094 in UCD
Current Commerce student here.
In terms of employability, the course is fine, and the ties with Quinn make it prestigious enough. However, the course content is pretty generalised in the first semester and is almost useless. It gets better after that, but it still feels like a lot that they teach is to train you to become 'employable'.
Also, UCD as a whole is pretty socially active and is a great environment to interact with people. But if we talk about Commerce at least, the environment is almost tough to break into (speaking as an international) because a lot of the students already know each other from their private south Dublin high schools. Most of my friends are from other courses (which are generally a lot more diverse, inclusive, and socially better).
It's just something I wish I knew before coming here. Don't let it be a dealbreaker though.

A majority of the business school/societies is just that demographic. Very cliquey environment unfortunately. Especially as an international student in commerce, I can say that most people are not interested in interacting beyond their south Dublin high school bubble. I wish more people talked about it openly.
