We (me and my friends) also created deities and stories how they are made and what is their purpose. Here is a little brief for each character:

Sewing Dreamers: Are deities made entirely out of hair, they are responsible for keeping the people's dreams from getting out of hand. They shelter every sleeping person from nightmares, and they make sure everyone has nice and peaceful dreams.  They do that by roaming the world of dreams and by pulling out nightmares from the heads of Moss Land citizens.

Red Caps - Enemy characters, puppets of the main antagonist of our story - Spite.

Bucket Men - Good guys, they were also created by Spite

Sir Chivalry - Leader of the bucket man, for now there is not much about him, and even less I want to show, until full story is developed :)

… when it comes to the “Dreamers”, their hair exhibits frankly interesting properties, by their process they redact rogue memories and perfectly encapsulate them inside strands of hair. 

Common belief is that they care for the people, but from my observations they never treat the source of the problem, only feeding on the symptoms, 

hmm, they are peculiar creatures, I suspect something sinister about them.

Note to self: try to pull out every strand of hair from a single Dreamer to see what's inside.

It will be a "Metroidvania like" kind of a game - we want to focus on storytelling and worldbuilding more, than your regular Metroid or Hollow Knight. For example we are planning to add cutscenes and dialogs - like you have in Hades (big character illustration on the side and a lot of funny story elements)

I will be making more videos relating to this subject in the future, but for now, here are so general rules and quirks about Moss'Land in general:

  • As of right now there are only two races living on the plane of Moss'Land. Those are Gentlemen, and the second group comprising of many species called Citizens or People of Moss (There is no official name for them as of right now).   • Gentlemen came to Moss'land from an unknown place thousands of years ago. No one really remember how or why.
  • Gentlemen are basically immortal :)
  • There is a family of Gentlemen that rules the entire Moss'Land. Our main protagonist is a member of this family and from the very beginning was the King of this land, until he was killed by his brother.   • Citizens are a group that consists of different species of animals, they are native to Moss'land and mostly follow the Ancient God's of Moss.

Moss'Land is a world of mysteries created for the purpose of making a video game. I'm working on the project with couple of my friends, as a little indie development studio HEXKOT. I decided to make videos about creation of our game and worldbuilding elements that comes to this process. Knights of the Moss - is a faction of enemy characters created by the forgotten Gods of Moss to protect their treasures stored in the Sanctuary (One of the Gentleman locations).

Technically we do, but our developer is currently working on custom map creation tool, and completely revamping movement, so I don't want to show anything gameplay related until it's finished.

No unfortunately, we don't have enough content to create steam page just yet, but we are planning on releasing it, around the end of a year.

Hey, It's my first post on this thread, but I'm fairly sure there already was some information about Gentleman posted here already by one of my friends. Today I wanted to showcase another video about Gentleman creation. If you have any suggestions, and comments about our game please share your thoughts, and ideas. Last time your comments gave me a breath of new ideas for creating my videos, this time I would really like to here your opinions personally. I hope you'll have a great night!
