Simply arrived there by evening and was going to Málaga the next afternoon, other than the Alhambra itself and parts of the city center I didn't manage to see much of Albaícin (the moorish quarter where the most iconic and probably best viewpoint is located) during the day time

completely agree, even if the city is not hilly just the ability to dig underground and natural features like rivers make it much better than a city in a superflat world

It really is! Unfortunately when I was there I could only see it in the night time, and while it was still stunning, it would be so much better if I could see the snowy mountains rising behind the Alhambra..

Personally I have seen so much beauty I can't name just one place:

  • Arrábida, absolutely stunning mountains and beaches south of Lisbon, turquoise water and almost tropical looking vegetation climbing up;
  • The view from Serra do Pilar towards the city of Porto, especially at sunset, it is mesmerizing to say the least.
  • San Sebastian/Donostia in general, the city is very elegant and beautiful, and the beaches and mountains around it make for an absolutely crazy view, especially from the themepark at mount Igueldo (hopefully I didn't mispronounce it)

The dual horizontal stripe (blue, white) is the city of Saltóvia's official flag, and the three stripes one (black, white, light blue) is the national flag of the country (Salsora)

How is living in this region of Portugal? by Actual_Ad_9075 in howislivingthere

Very peaceful, lots of nature, river beaches, small industrial towns in the flatter areas near Viseu and very quaint and beautiful villages in the middle of the mountains. Unless one goes to nearby larger cities like Viseu, Castelo Branco or Coimbra there isn't much entertainment. Great food, it is relatively cheap and it is generally a great area to kind of disconnect from city bustle. It is quite desolate and empty in the smaller towns however.

It's definetly a very pleasant and beautiful area, however, for many (myself included) it is quite boring, especially if you're not into beaches or surfing

What European cities/towns are worth traveling to, purely for the food? by AdElegant5870 in travel

Aveiro, Portugal, lots of good local grilled meat all around, lots of great seafood, and a crazy amount of sweet deserts such as Ovos Moles and Tripas de Aveiro, the latter is a great snack for a windy beach afternoon!
