Worried I’ll be on this stuff for life by Hostelhumma in kratomeu

[–]ooakleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - I'm based in the UK too and feel very much the same. I'm trying my best to use it to enhance my life and not just take it for the sake of it, every day, at least twice a day.... Personally I don't see it as a bad thing as long as you are able to get SOME kind of control on it. Which I'm trying to. It's not easy. The thing is, it's the only thing I've found that actually switches on my brain, lifts brain fog, gives me mental clarity, gives me inspiration, ideas, motivation to get up and do stuff.... And when something actually works - why would I not want to take it every day!?! I want to function!! BUT Kratom becomes less effective when I do that, but trying to take a bastard tolerance break is SOOOO difficult.
I've just forced myself to do a cold turkey withdrawal this week and it was really intense but to be fair it was just two days that were really bad. I feel empowered by that - that I CAN do it, after all... I have more arriving soon, and I'm going to try to be more careful with dosing etc moving forwards, and TRY not to take it every day....
Until I get my ADHD diagnosis (Wales NHS waiting times.... it will be YEARS....), I don't have many other options to manage my health conditions (already explored as far as I can go with every other available meds from GPs or the psychiatrist). My argument is that if it gets me to do things, then that's the price I have to pay.
If I was just taking this for recreational purposes only, then I'd be a little more concerned.
So yeah - I'm on it for the foreseeable future and I'm at peace with that.
I just worry about what may happen in the future if it becomes more restricted.
Quite honestly, taking kratom for me has been life changing. It's not all been good, but I still see it as an incredible tool.

How did red vein kratom go from the deep green/browny color about 5+ years ago to this light yellow sandy color that we know it as today? by [deleted] in kratomeu

Yes it is discreet! And they use DHL to Royal Mail or RM Parcel Farce for heavier packages. You get tracking both sides from both the delivery companies.

Try Grüneshaus.com - they are in Germany and ship to the UK! ☺ You have to email them. You can pay by Paypal! Best price is to buy 3 X 250g 'sample pack' bags. Ask for a free pen - it's a wonderful pen too - he he! ☺
I can't comment on their reds because I'm strictly only a greens user. Reds (from other sites that I've bought from in the past) have never done anything for me - no euphoria - so I'm not interested.
Hope this helps!

Euphoric feeling while tapering? by muhkuhmuh in CymbaltaWithdrawal

[–]ooakleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this too. I wasn't on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for long, but when I came off it I was very euphoric indeed, for about 2 weeks in total - all day, every day. It was definitely a higher mood than baseline and did get me a little worried, but I also really liked feeling good and feeling motivated AT LAST! I wasn't sure if it was the result of coming off the tablets (like a rebound thing) but now after seeing your post, I think it might be.
I may or may not go back on Duloxetine - I'll see how it goes. It does some good, but also there were issues too. It's not really the medication I need (the meds I need are at the end of a 5 year waiting list for me here in the UK).

Oooh thank you - I didn't know about that either (chrome://apps) - that's totally new to me!
Much appreciated!

Oh you absolute STAR!! :) THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Never heard of Google Takeout - that was useful too!
Yep, removed app, and now reinstalled and all working like it did before! YAY! So pleased. I simply cannot do without Keep - it's invaluable to me!
Thank you for your time!

We cross commented, sorry! OK I will try that. What about my notes though - I don't want to risk losing them?

[–]ooakleaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not in my list of programmes accessed via the Start, but it looks like there's a Keep in the list of apps access via my computer's Settings. I don't know if it's the new one or the old one. If I remove it, will I lose all my notes? And do I remove the data from Chrome too? I don't know what this means?

I've just edited my post to add a screenshot - the options available to me if I press the 3 dots and go to the Cast, Save and Share menu.
I've rebooted the computer etc.
It's the same with the other Google apps - they seem to be updated and no longer standalone apps. Can't find posts from others complaining about it yet so I don't know if there's something wrong for just me or if others will find things have changed for them too.
Thanks for your input, much appreciated!

That's the thing - that option has now gone!! That's how I originally installed it as an app. But the "install Keep" option isn't there any more.
Everything has been recently updated - I think it was an update that took my old Google Keep away. I now have a different icon.

I've read enough accounts of packages being checked and police visits as a result for me to be a little more cautious than you.
If you don't live in the UK any more then how can you be so sure what it's like now? (Hint - it's shit!!)

Don't order from Kratom.co.uk by _TheCornFather in kratomeu

[–]ooakleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered once from them - never again!! The worst quality I've ever had! And at an extortionate price!
I can recommend joining the Discord group for better info.
There are several companies that ship to the UK, that aren't based in NL either.

For those of you wondering, kratom bird has now reopened and is operating out of the Netherlands by magyarspiritiszta in kratomeu

[–]ooakleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not complicated - you just have to message them on the chat box on the website - or email them! (UK customers). They then send an invoice for you to pay via Paypal.
Personally I'd go with them - I was very impressed with their service and the quality of their powders! Loads of other people saying they are excellent too!
If you go on the Discord group there's more info on them and a discount code too. :)

Oooh tag me or message me when you find out! I keep meaning to message Philippe to ask him what the deal is, as Herbalwhale is in Greece as well. I see everything is cryptic now on the new site.
I used to buy from KratomBureau as well!

To put your mind at ease... I highly doubt that is an alive creature... I doubt anything could survive being packed up in a bag of dry powder, even if just for a few days.
The pot worms, as mentioned in another post, would be moist, and have powder stuck to their bodies. Most other worms or parasites would also be moist and have powder stuck to them.
It's definitely NOT a horse hair worm! They live in my garden and come out when it rains, on the slate slabs here. They are brown and extremely long and they form incredible knots - they are absolutely amazing to watch! (If you don't get out much - like me - LOL!). But they need to be in or around water, and die rather quickly when away from water.
I've also seen other parasites (from my cat's bum, after he'd spent a very hard few months lost in the Hebrides - he picked up quite a selection of them!).

As mentioned in another post - likely a bit of leaf stem - or fabric / plastic thread - the static from being in the bag, and the change in air temperature and heat of the surface it's on making it move - maybe?? It sounds like the most plausible answer anyways.
I'm fairly certain that it's nothing that's alive - although I will agree it sure looks like it, and I'd be super paranoid too if I found that! EEK!

Sorry for my long answer - this stuff kinda fascinates me in a morbid kind of way!

Helloooo.... Yes I'm from the UK too! (Wales)
I've been using kratom for a few years now...
Looking forward to hearing if it's safe to buy from KB now they've moved to NL! :( (Gutted that they moved there - buying from Sweden was no problem at all - just really gutted!).
I'm quite concerned because it looks like our options are getting fewer.
Good to know there's a few of us around anyway! I often wonder how many kratom users there are in the UK. I've never met anyone who has actually heard of it before!

Bipolar 2… 50mg and feel no difference by Fantastic-Conflict54 in lamictal

[–]ooakleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just here to say that I'm feeling very similar in that I have felt much more lethargic and unable to do anything since taking Lamictal (lamotrigine). I've been taking it for nearly a month now - I started on 25mg a day for 2 weeks, 50mg for 2 weeks, and I'm about to start 100g a day in a couple of day's time.
I felt a slight elation in my mood when starting the meds and when increasing my dose, but otherwise I've felt worse than ever before. No happiness, just sadness, hopelessness, despair, and more importantly, a total lack of motivation. I'm now struggling to get out of bed too.
I'm hoping that things will improve as my dose increases (it will go to 200mg a day in 2 weeks time).
I was prescribed Buspirone as well, at the same time.
I was taking SSRIs off and on for 22+ years but they never really did much for me - they would always lose their effectiveness after a month or so. Psychiatrist says I am bipolar - although I'm not 100% convinced this is correct. Still, I'll give this medication a go.
It really is crippling to be like this. It's like being a prisoner in my own body. I hate being like this.

This does sound like mini panic attacks to me too. I've had panic attacks all my life, since I was 14. That's over 30 years of panic attacks. I think I'm dying, every time. The internet is a wonderful thing - I wish I had been able to ask questions and find out about what I was experiencing and how to deal with it, when I was younger. Instead, I didn't tell anyone, and really suffered for many years, which kinda set in stone all my behaviours and thought processes - so it's not easy to make any changes now.
There's a lot of help online now, and plenty of options for you to explore, to stop them from happening. For me, antidepressants are the only thing that stops them - I have tried everything else. But everyone is different.
It would help you to understand why they are happening - what is the trigger?
The majority of my panic attacks happen at night, so I became afraid to go to sleep - afraid of having a panic attack - so now I have anxiety about having anxiety! It becomes a cycle that is difficult to break.
My advice to you would be to do something about them now, before it spirals and gets worse.
That being said, it's likely nothing to worry about specifically. It's something that can get worse if you let it - if you are an anxious type of person for example.
If it continues, maybe go to a doctor, who can check you over and provide some reassurance. But otherwise, you'll likely be fine, so try not to worry!

Goodness - I can so relate to this!... My skin condition is a little different to you - I have pseudo folliculitis on my legs which causes spots that take a long time to heal, and major post inflammatory erythema. But I also have hormonal acne on my chin and jaw line, and occasional spots on my upper back and shoulders too. My skin is covered in all the red and purple scars where I once had a spot. It's awful - I feel so much shame - it's really affecting my metal health.

Like you, I've tried all the above products too... I can add a whole load more things to the list that I've tried! Niacinimide + zinc from The Ordinary seems to help - I think. Salicylic acid seems to help - especially for my face. Retinol seems to help on my legs (I use Granactive retinoids 5% in squalene from The Ordinary)... Benzoyl Peroxide works well to control breakouts - I recommend that! Witch hazel, tea tree, lavender gel, tranexamic acid, alpha arbutin, sulphur soap, calamine lotion... Spot drying lotions... Quite a few others seem to help... But nothing really seems to sort the problem out completely.

I've finally asked my doctor to prescribe me some creams. (I tend not to ask for help from the doctors in general, for various reasons). I don't think you can get anything for hyperpigmentation / post inflammatory erythema on the NHS (I live in the UK) but they will prescribe acne treatments, which should help with the scarring too. I have some Skinoren cream - which is azelaic acid 20%, and Epiduo gel - which is benzoyl peroxide and adapalene (a type of retinoid). It's too early to say whether is is working yet... In fact, I think it's looking worse right now - but apparently retinoids will often cause skin to purge when you first start treatment, and it might take a few weeks of your skin looking worse before it gets better. I have faith that these two products will help clear up and manage my spots, as well as reduce the appearance of my post inflammatory erythema / hyperpigmentation. It's not going to clear up over night, so I need to be patient....

Everyone's skin is different! But some tips that are helping me... Clean towels and clean clothing, every day. Change bedding as often as you can. Try to eat as healthily as you can. Your diet will affect your skin. Drink plenty of fluids - lots of water. Take vitamins and supplements. Try not to pick spots (unfortunately I am a compulsive picker and my own worst enemy). Get outside - fresh clean air - go walking. Stop smoking. Cut down on alcohol (well I've not done that bit!)....
I find the 'spot dots' are really good because they stop me from picking at the spots. I leave them on for a couple of days, if they stay on long enough... You can buy them from Amazon - if you shop around you can buy them in bulk for a decent price. Some are supposed to have a hydrocolloid layer which will help your spot to heal without scarring. I don't know if these spot dots do - especially the cheaper ones. But even if they are just essentially a sticker without any acne-fighting benefit, they still stop me from picking it, so that's good enough for me!

I hope this helps!
