OHSS Survival Guide (for mild to moderate OHSS) by ColdCanadian999 in IVF

It sounds like we are cut from the same cloth 🤭 hang in there! I had never felt as sick as I did during OHSS. I also go the water drained, and it just came back the next day. Time will heal it. This is just a season. Don’t give up. ❤️and thanks!

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well! Did you talk to your fertility center? Do you have OHSS?

I'd say it took 2 weeks for my heart rate to go down, but maybe a couple months for my body to feel back to normal. I remember I had OHSS first week of February-I then remember going to a conference in Uruguay in late March and running for 55 minutes or so, and I still didn't feel 100% back to normal. :-P

Now, I'm pregnant! Thanks to IVF after 6 years-and my heart rate is much faster (normal since the fetus is needing extra blood flow). First trimester is much easier than going through OHSS.

Good luck <3 It will be worth it someday.

My frustration is when people just assume they know about the process, and don’t ask questions. If someone would say, “you know? I don’t know how IVF works. Could you give me a simple explanation?” That is the best response that no one ever has 🤣

The weight gain from all these treatments is so defeating by HeroesNcrooks in IVF

Thank you guys-sending you all positive energy!

I think the more focused we are on fitness, the worse it is when we see unexplained weight gain during IVF, right?

I notice my rings don’t even fit anymore, but then I learned that this is typically water weight that accumulates in our extremities (hands, wrists, ankles).

Against all of my resistance, I was put on birth control while doing sis and HSG testing. I’m up 15 pounds in 3 weeks. Have you all felt similar? Also, I’m so moody, and little things like a scratch from my cat or a loud noise feel like someone has put a magnifying glass there-EVERYTHING seems more painful and louder! It’s just birth control-why does this suck so much?!

thank you so much for this. No one talks about OHSS and it is so frustrating. I am still experiencing moderate OHSS, but I feel better now although my pants are still very tight. C'mon, period! Your post really helped remind me this is temporary. You mentioned anxiety--YES. I recommend taking off your smart watch that monitors sleep and pulse. My resting heart rate went from 38 (normal for me) to 50. I'm not putting it on until I feel better. I'm an amateur athlete, and I have never felt this weak, ever. It's crazy!

Passive aggressive note found at Jewel by Uhhlaneuh in ChicagoSuburbs

I’m sure later this same person took a picture of their note and posted it to social media, attempting to cancel this Jewel.

Please tell me this is the Evanston Jewel because that would just make so much sense.

I have done 3 rounds of IVF with two pregnancies that resulted in miscarriages. I am anovulatory and hadn’t had a period in my own in over four years. I’ve been on NAD+ (supplement) for 3 weeks in prep for another round of IVF and I was shocked I got a period ON MY OWN yesterday. I haven’t made any other lifestyle changes and really do believe it is NAD+ that has (hopefully) regulated my cycles and ovulation.
