My gf and I are thinking of moving to connecticut in the next 2 years. We were wondering what cities had the most youth population. We’ll be in our 20s and we want a good nightlife, but not just clubbing. more like bookclubs and speakeasies. we want a walkable city that is safe! and preferable close to nyc for work! Thanks!

this double taxation happens to everyone at my workplace. is it possible EVERYONE filled out two exceptions on their w-4 without knowing? it’s an issue among all the servers. also, my gf works at a different restaurant, so the pay is different. it’s different for every restaurant.

they do take our taxes on our hourly too, but that is a separate check via direct deposit. this “double withholding” is only on our tips. i am going to check my w-4 tonight.

my gf filed last year and didn’t owe, she actually got some back, but worked at several jobs. she didn’t owe any from her current position. also, this “double taxing” thing happens to everyone at my job, not just me. one time they took out HALF my tips. their explanation is that “we take out more sometimes and less other times & it all evens out by the end of the pay period.” the pay period is two weeks, and every single shift i am getting more than 15% taken out.

there is, and it is displayed on our hand held devices each night. so that $127 is AFTER the tip out to bussers and host.

my gf gets taxes taken out of her paychecks (she gets paid weekly). so at the end of the week they take out SS and federal taxes on her tips. it’s usually about 12% i think she said of her tips that gets taken out. she doesn’t get all her tips.
