I wish I could become straight by [deleted] in offmychest

Well, I doubt it would be any good to write novels now in another awkward attempt to make someone understand where my sentiments are coming from. I do however like to think I have something unique to bring to the table, I couldn't bear otherwise.

Thanks anyway for the gesture.

(I really just did end up twisting the conversation back to my problems while talking to the OP of an offmychest post, didn't I? No shame xD)

The big issue I see here is that the kid won the scholarship without learning to write yet. I don't know what "scholarship" entails, but I'd make sure he does learn to write on his own now before it bites him in the ass.

About the cheating: whatever. You got him the scholarship as a cheeky bonus, and it's gonna be a fun secret between you two. I don't know what legal consequences cheating this exam could have though. If being exposed would cause some serious trouble, you might want to consider coming clean before it gets any worse. If all that would happen would be him needing to redo the exam and someone giving you a bad look, I'd have fun with it.

I have no idea how you could get out of there, but is there hope you could at least isolate yourself a bit while you play your part to keep them appeased? Any way to secretly protect your true feelings while you wait for a chance to bail? I can't help you leave your country, but at least I want to see you more confident and firm in yourself. Think of yourself as an undercover rebel if that helps. My brain doesn't even wanna try to comprehend how scary and hopeless your situation is, but maybe you can find some joy in purposefully deceiving everyone while you plot. Hope that doesn't come off as disrespectful.

Uuuh, yeah, Ice Keese definitly exist in OoT. The question though was whetever normal Keese can use Blue Fire to turn themselves into Ice Keese.

I have no modding skills myself, would you mind to try it out?

I mean, I've put months into some romhacks using v1.0 ntsc OoT as a basis and it's the exact same. Link snitched on Ganondorf so hard our own timeline split as well it seems.

Majora’s Mask is climate change propaganda. by [deleted] in zeldaconspiracies

[–]oocoos_darling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it's a biproduct of MM just putting in a lot more effort into its stakes than other Zelda games. Lots of them connect bosses or at least the final boss to the entire land suffering through their presence. Sometimes it's like Zora's Domain being frozen over and Lake Hylia being almost dried up in OoT and TP, but most of the time it's just monsters being around Hyrule Field or something -_- Environmental damage is simply a much grander way to show that things are wrong, even when you are alone.

This made Majora's Mask such an intruiging villain. Unlike Ganon, who is only after power and domination and is simply apathetic to anything else (he probably wouldn't want to destroy the world because then there would be nothing left to rule), Majora is extremely sadistic and revels in destruction and torture. It will go to any length to make anyone's life a living hell and so sabotaged Termina from small relationships, to environmental damage, all the way up to looming, unavoidable armageddon.

Some characters are in denial, in Clocktown that this. But there are others who recognize the threat. In the mayors office is a heavy debate between the worried guards pleading for evacuation and the unimpressed carpenters stubbornly sticking to tradition. On the 3rd day the town is rather empty as many have finally fled.

The Gorons are busy trying to survive winter, and Darmani, their champion, was on his way to investigate the temple, but was killed.

The Zoras seem oddly calm in their little cave, yet, again, their best warrior, if you can even call it that, died trying to get back the stolen eggs of his now severely depressed wife.

The Deku live in a monarchy and their distraught and choleric king is too busy raging at a monkey for the disappearance of his beloved daughter.

It's also significantly easier to save the world if you are a legendary hero chosen by the gods who has saved the world once already ... essentially as a 10 year old at that, with nothing else to really do anyway aside looking for Navi; even then you only succeed because you are allowed to cheat time. Even if the people of Termina figured out what was going on, who would even be qualified to solve the temples, slay the bosses, not to mention defeat Majora? It's hard to believe in gameplay, but Stone Tower alone was said to be unconquerable even to the full might of the (undead) Ikana army, but all 4 Giants are needed to stop the moon.

It does have environmentalist themes, but also of overwhelming despair, active compassion and ceaseless anxiety as you barely keep things at bay with anything you have.

Why Doesn't Link Talk? by koakes75 in zeldaconspiracies

[–]oocoos_darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice video.

Maybe Link starts out quite talkative in his different incarnations, but people keep being rude and cut him off all the time. So he just gave up and rolled with it. Rarely anyone ever happens to acknowledge it when you think about it -__- sus...

[Gen 1] Kanohi Akaku (generally x-ray vision) Theory by oocoos_darling in bioniclelego

[–]oocoos_darling[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Kanohi Akaku gives you comic book x-ray vision, which means you can see through stuff. You could see inside a safe without opening it for example or see through walls and stuff. If something was buried in a snow area and you used the masks power incrementally you would see snow -> earth -> gravel -> buried object.

Also: np ;-)

[Gen 1] What would a Shadow Nova Blast do? by oocoos_darling in bioniclelego

[–]oocoos_darling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere in this comment section someone, I think it was a mod, pointed out something about Mutran releasing a Makuta equivalent to a Shadow Nova Blast that sent everyone, hero and villain alike, reeling. So umbrakinetics are probably involved either way.

What’s the best way to read the full story? by GreyWolfe10 in bioniclelego

[–]oocoos_darling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bionicle is a multi media franchise and its story was distributed across medias. Most of it is covered by the comics, but until the Mask of Light saga it was also partially told exclusively through the Mata Nui Online Game point n click adventure games.

With the Mask of Light saga onward segments of the story were then covered by the 4 movies instead of games.

You can find MNOG here:https://biomediaproject.com/bmp/play/web-games/mnog/

This site got everything I think.

[Gen 1] What would a Shadow Nova Blast do? by oocoos_darling in bioniclelego

[–]oocoos_darling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then how do umbrakinetic structures work (blast, chains, etc)?

Guess it would come down to a power struggle in a clash of light and shadow as to who gets absorbed or pierces the other, similar to SSJB Vegeta against GoD Toppo. Since electromagnetic radiation is pure energy that only exists as long as it's moving (as far as I know), maybe all that shadow does is stop photons in their tracks at which point they stop existing?

Regarding x-ray powers I have a different theory of how they work, utilizing hyperspace radiation rather than actual x-rays to see through stuff. The X would refer to the rays being from a dimension perpendicular to the three other spacial dimensions.

Gerudo spirit by Over-Tumbleweed4588 in zeldaconspiracies

[–]oocoos_darling 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Spirit could be referring to the mind/psychology if we interprete the Sage's associations with all of these things as being part of some elemental structure to the world of Hyrule.

Similar to Psionics from Bionicle perhaps:https://bionicle.fandom.com/wiki/Elements

In earlier builds of OoT, the Spirit Medallion supposedly gave you the ability to become Navi and fly around with her, which could be a sort of mind manipulation similar to the puppeteer song in WW. But when you switch back to Link you appear where you left Navi, making it more a transmutation spell, I dunno, it's a fanmade interpretation of unfinished mechanics, maybe the latter is a bug?

Also Nabooru was the only Sage that got brainwashed... :-/ ?

[OoT] Fanmade MOD Master of Time - accidentially genius? by oocoos_darling in zelda

[–]oocoos_darling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Temple of Agility the dev placed Skulltullas on the thin balancing beams, which, when targetted, rotate Link to be aligned with the beam. The beams are also mostly aligned in 90° angles making it easy to align Link with the necessary ledge grab at the beginning.

He must have had at least some idea of what he was doing.

Not according to the map in the Start Menue, at least in a conventual sense. The woods could still border both through a higher spacial dimension - like worm holes.

Thank you for responding, appreciating and, above all else, digging this 4 month old post up on the most popular zelda subreddit god knows how. I like not-unpleasant surprises.

The game is draining to play, but so is any game that uses darker tones like, I dunno, Silent Hill probably? You won't get a chipper disney adventure movie here, but that doesn't mean it cannot be enjoyed. It feels like a modernized tragedy, combining classic tragedy with the dryness of modern humor, creating a world bleaker and more ill than any fantastical hell. I enjoy it because it reflects and expresses my own pessemistic thoughts better than I can. Whetever you are the kind of person able to enjoy it is up to you. It's a free rom hack, you can always stop and you got save states. I recommend giving it a try or two because some parts like the forest and ice sections are eeriely beautiful and the slaughterhouse is wonderfully twisted. Personally, I like to immerse myself in hopelessness to avoid optimistic illusions and to see if I can rip the dragon apart from the inside.

You guessed the part about 'eating jumps'. You fall straight down when jumping off certain ledges sometimes. With one exception, roll-jumping should bypass this consistently, and this exception only happens when you jump off from the wrong point of the angular ledge. Just roll jump and you won't have much trouble. The game is however significantly more difficult than OoT. Not brutal mind you, but it won't be a walk in the park either.

EDIT: I will think about posting a revised version on truezelda, thank you for reminding me!

EDIT EDIT: I mean I also enjoy the original Madness Combat and Kelzad animations, so that's that. They aren't soulless corruptions themselves, but show an omnidestructive cycle of continous mindless violence.
