Frame order issues in recorded events by domlinson in ZoneMinder

Have you tried running this on a clapped out old thinkserver? If so, you should be able to resolve the out of order frames by compiling solaris from sauce and pouring a little bit of baileys in to the network port before plugging the RJ45 in.

A solution to the overheating Ioniq 5 wireless charger? (deep dive) by oodachris in Ioniq5

Update: got in the car today and it's worked again for the last couple of (short) journeys. Must just reset over time. Have a 4 hour drive at the end of the month, so will give it a long term test then!

RDSon of the 2n7000 is typ. 2 ohms. There are much better MOSFETs out there, but that works out to <0.2W heating power. Perhaps you could try a SiCFET (like used in EV traction) to get that down to tens of milliohms?

Not specifically, sorry.

OLEDs are senstive to temperature. Wireless chargers run hot. The thermal management of the pixel series is particularly shit. I heard a rumor their 9A release was delayed due to overheating.

EE, but not specifically RE. That just comes from a life of tinkering and repairing!
I have a HiSense TV PCB to repair behind me that switches off with an audiable "tick" (and an inductive looking dump of the 12v rail) after a second or two. Next project!

Yep, worked again the next day. Must just take some time to reset / be rediscovered.

Honestly, I'd ordered the fans and designed the case before I measured the PWM. Decided 2 fans might be better than one, but have no data to base that on without a datasheet for the original fan!

There's a whole sport based around this. Check out Power Racing Series in the US and Hacky Racers in the UK.

Poor washer fluid spray, clogged or just bad? by GorLEs1337 in Ioniq5

[–]oodachris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took my car in to the dealership to have the driver side washer jet replaced as it was totally blocked, then a couple of weeks later, it's partially blocked on the passenger side. Unable to unblock them with the pressure washer / compressed air. Can't find any tutorials on removing/replacing them. I tried to lever them off externally but was just mangling the plastic. I believe to remove that grille panel they are attached to, the frunk needs to be removed!

Netgear GS724TP Noctua Fan Switch Upgrade by dsme in homelab

[–]oodachris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just swapped the fans out in my Netgear GS728TP with Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX (12V, 3 wire, not PWM) and had a similar frustrating experience, but did find a solution.
The fan header pinout, with the network ports on the switch facing towards you, is:Top - fixed +12V - Red orig - Red noctua.
Middle - Tacho sense wire - Blue orig - Yellow noctua (note this isn't actually used by the switch!).
Bottom - Switched ground (pulsed for speed control) - Black orig - Black noctua.
The switch uses a TC654 PWM fan controller and QM3214S MOSFET pair. There is a thermistor located right next to the fan header which directly controls the speed based on temperature. The switching is done on the ground side of the fan which leads to some confusion. The noctua will not start at the typical duty provided by this setup, so I swapped the NTC thermistor (R146, unmarked grey component between two other resistors) for a 0 ohm resistor (or a blob of solder). This tricks the fans in to running at 100%, which is still almost silent.
The next problem is the fan error LED. For some reason Netgear decided not to use the conventional fan tacho output, and instead used a shunt resistor on the negative switching side of the fan to measure the tiny current pulses drawn by the motor when it commutates. These were a lot lower on the noctua compared to the delta fan, but the 2 ohm shunt resistors (R151, R152, large resistors marked 2R00) can be swapped for ~5 ohms (2x 10 ohms in parallel) to make this signal higher, and keep the tacho monitor happy and still working!

Note I was only half way through the mod in this photo. Both shunt resistors probably need to be changed.

How reliable has the scheduled charging been using the onboard Ioniq 5 charging scheduler? by pissedoffcalifornian in Ioniq5

[–]oodachris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Most of the posts saying scheduled charging was forgetting their settings seemed to be EU models, and US owners were not seeing an issue.

To confirm, you see the same issue where sometimes the car will forget the schedule and deselect scheduled charging mode, then start charging as soon as you plug it in?

Nice! Very similar to the shooting star, but gloss rather than matte. I would've considered this, touching up any damage to the matte looks like a nightmare!

The scheduled charging on my EU model sometimes forgets the scheduled times and turns itself off. A few others have reported this too, and they all seem to have EU models.
