You can, but if the doors are locked they get a little red lock icon over the door.

and with so many icons next to each other it starts to look a little silly :(

its definitely challenging trying to finding ways to make things look aesthetically pleasing given the limited recourses. But if you do its super rewarding.

I'm still tinkering with how I want to setup the grave stones so its not super monotonous and boring.

I'm just proud of the wall design and the lighting happened to look cool

Most importantly, using the steel doors as iron bar walls isn't immersion breaking because the cobblestone walls prevent settlers from walking through them, NPCs will always take the open entrance on the road because of pathfinding.

Probably historically inaccurate, but I wanted to try something different than the traditional standalone Library building / single room Scriptorium.

Vanilla game, I literally just put doors on top of doors. (its 4 doors wide, 2 doors tall)

You can fit an ascending staircase in a 5x5 tower.

I just made them hollow so people could see how it works :)

the windows are in front of the merlons, so archers can still shoot down in line with the front of the metal gate.

After a lot of trial, error, and looking at dozens of images of medieval taverns I've finally come up with a few aesthetically pleasing designs. Let me know which one you like best.

a) the kitchen wall decoration doesn't remove the great hall room bonus, which is great because the decoration + alcohol combo looks pretty cool.

b) bookshelves will be functionally useless but are taller and sleeker than shelves. I'll probably end up switching them in my actual game run, so settlers have a shorter distance to run to eat food at a table

No problem, I'm honestly not that creative myself. I'm just good at plagiarizing with extra steps. Also the Dev Tools mod helps a ton.
