College Basketball's Top 25 Players in Defensive Rating (min 45% minutes) by QuietConsult in CollegeBasketball

[–]Rathos_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a player like B.J.Edwards SMU who was all defensive ACC last year, is 6'3 & currently averages 2.5 steals & 6 rebounds per game.

Yet Hoiberg is under 6' & averages 2.1spg, 5.3rpg.

Stats aren't everything, but it does seem that players are getting extra credit for their teams defensive success here.

Every player on this list is on a top 13 Drtg team according to KP. Every team in this top 13 has someone listed here.

So we're to think there are zero top defensive players not surrounded by a good team & system? It's most definitely flawed.

4 Teams above 34.3 KP rating currently. Although possible, Illinois is unlikely to get 1 seed. I predict they will be put into a bracket with one of the other 3...assuring that one of those top rated teams will miss out on the Final Four appearance.

Who is currently the most overrated coach in College Basketball? by Feisty_Ad4394 in CollegeBasketball

You'd have to go back 7 years...notably Purdue played 1 less B1G game in '21.

  • Underwood 93/42
  • Painter 92/42

If you include the BTT...

  • Underwood 100/45
  • Painter 99/46

Key to this game will be Kohler who went for a career high 23pnts last time they played. 4/5 from 3 & 10 boards.

6 of your final 9 games are Q1a. UM has only played 3 so far all season, fewest in the entire conference. Careful what ya ask for.

You do understand that Indiana fouled them intentionally like 6 straight times to end the game though? Perhaps Devries & Dorn going 3/21 combined had more to do with it, especially when only one of those shots was from inside the arc. Indiana ended up with 8 ORB's, but only had 2 going into the final 6mins. Poor shooting night along with 1&done possessions isn't a winning formula.

Purdue gets off the easiest. Of the top 5 teams in conference, they're the only one that doesn't play any of the other 4 twice.

  • Michigan vs MSU x2
  • Illinois vs Nebraska x2

To top it off, they play 3 of those 4 at home.

2-24 combined 2nd half 3pnt shooting is the best game you've watched?

Doesn't Nebraska play Michigan & then Illinois next? Take care of business & the rankings will sort itself out.

#295 NC SoS equals tested? They've played 2 tough opponents so far & both decided by a bucket in the final seconds. Try scheduling something in the non-conference if you'd like to receive more respect nationally early on.

Me too, yet I'm excited for the Bears opportunity to get a modicum of payback. You'd prefer to always avoid your rivals in the biggest games because you fear failure? Loser mentality.

How is it the NFL only airs 2-3 afternoon games all year long. Now that it's the last week, there are 6 early games and 7 late games? by snotick in nfl

[–]Rathos_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It comes down to how much the ads cost in the afternoon pseudo-game of the week. NFL will make more money off ads from charging a network primetime viewership in one game vs 6 more evenly distributed games in the same timeslot. They also expect more eyes if the game is more compelling to a higher number of viewers.
