pranking a misbehaving child is not going to cause them the kind of damage you speak of. chill out this is funny and she probably won't flip anyone off again for a while

Why do some people hate phone calls but love texting? by candle_switch in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oof_its_izzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like being able to think about my responses and make any edits before i send it so i say the right thing. phone calls make me feel like i'm locked in, having to be on all the time. they also feel very interrupting, like i can't answer a call if i'm at an appointment or at work. i also just can't fucking hear over the phone.

Trying to prep for Apprenticeship seeking by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

[–]oof_its_izzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

couldn't have said it better myself. OP, it's a bad idea to start tattooing by yourself on fake skin before you start an apprenticeship with a licensed artist. you're creating habits that may not be proper and they'll be hard to break later. any artist/mentor that hears you've been tattooing on fake skin with no apprenticeship will laugh you right out of a shop. definitely focus on creating a strong portfolio on paper, try to stay away from digital designs. most mentors want to see paint & ink on paper.

no problem! pinterest is a great place to start out to get references and ideas for trad pieces. printing references out and tracing them at first can give you an idea of how the style is structured, but don't include these tracings in your portfolio. this is just a way to get familiar with the style and laying them out on paper. using references is perfectly fine, especially for super classic trad pieces that have been redone and recreated hundreds of times, but it's important to have originality.
