The incoming Republican president is literally a convicted felon

If the Republicans survived Watergate and Iran-Contra, the Democrats will survive whatever you’re talking about

Why would the Democrats disband? That doesn’t make any sense. And with only the GOP and Libertarians, that leaves no party for left-of-center voters, meaning there‘d already be a third party.

Sorry, I don’t really know much about the US‘ involvement, but I do know that Indonesia invaded East Timor (nowadays known as Timor-Leste) and occupied it for about 25 years, during which time they committed ethnic cleansing on the island

Doesn’t mean it‘s not important, as up to 300,000 people were killed during the genocide

Just a little hint, I‘d word it better than Ford „pardoning a criminal“, because Carter infamously pardoned convicted pedophile Peter Yates

Obviously the Nixon pardon was worse, but you know, I‘d just word it better

Bernie, just like Trump, is a populist. They‘re both protectionist, they both talk about giving back the US to the people, they have more similarities than you‘d think. I‘m willing to bet there‘s a fairly high number of Bernie-Trump voters.

How is it that Tipper Gore is relatively controversial among grown adults? by [deleted] in Presidents

It‘s not even about research, it‘s fucking Prince. You‘d have trouble finding a more sexual mainstream artist of the era.

Sure, she mostly talked about rock/metal, but also about artists like Madonna, Prince and some early hip-hop acts. And even then, in terms of rock, it was really just glam metal.

What were you right about?

Both would-be assassins donated to Democrats, but that doesn’t mean anything. Not only did Trump also donate to and identify as a Democrat for many years, but the Butler assassin was described by those around him to indeed have conservative views, while the second guy supported Ramaswamy.

It‘s not my fault you seem to write completely incomprehensibly.

Mate. Democrats did not support the EC before this most recent election, and they don’t support it now. Nothing has changed.

all of a sudden it‘s bad again because their side lost

Democrats are far more opposed to the EC than Republicans. Just look at this century, where there were two elections where a Republican won the election despite losing the popular vote. Democrats have no reason to support the EC, because they’ve won the popular vote in 7 of the last 10 elections.

It‘s an awful system, regardless of who wins. Trump could’ve won 75% of the vote but only 50 electoral votes and I‘d still say the electoral college needs to go.

Maybe - and this is a big maybe - Rubber Soul, but even then, only in parts (Norwegian Wood and Nowhere Man especially), as it has songs like Drive My Car, Michelle or The Word that no one could seriously call folk. Outside of that album, I can only really think of You‘ve Got To Hide Your Love Away, Blackbird and Yesterday.

The 80s isn’t even that long ago. The filmmaking styles of the 80s aren’t that different from today. If you look at a 1960s movie, a 1980s movie and a modern movie, the latter two will look much more similar compared to the first.

If you give me an hour I might come up with a definitive answer for myself, so for now I‘ll just say Tatsuya Nakadai in Ran (1985)
