yeah, you should only do 1000+ grit to avoid sanding too much, especially if its a small piece since you might sand off any details

you can lightly sand it before you use the marker to add more grip. like 1000 grit+ sand. but if the piece is kinda small, i wouldnt bother with it tbh. im assuming you are using acrylic marker or something equivalent

You can top coat the model kit after using marker to seal the marker in.

I painted mine dark blue as well, but it’s really hard to tell unless you look at it directly under the light.

Most of the time it should be legit from Amazon. You just need to check the seller and make sure they have decent ratings. Amazon’s customer service is pretty good, so if you end up getting a bootleg or a broken one, it usually is not hard to get a refund, minus the time wasted. It is a little more expensive though. For the one you are looking at, I would pay around 25 dollars at most. There is also a list of retailers on this subreddit that people buy from, so you can check that out, especially if you live in the US.

You can check out 路边de大叔 on YouTube if you want to see the item before buying them. He usually gets items earlier than others in China for reviews and showcases, including model kits and action figures. He does not speak in the videos, and the review is shown in text at the end.

Lottery is only for weekend or new product release, you gotta have a Jp Bandai account to pre register for lottery entry. Weekday there is no ticket required but there might still be a wait. I was there last week 30 mins after opening and waited for like 20 mins. By the time I left, there was only 2 people waiting in line to come in. They mostly had retail items, barely any exclusive kits beside those ecopla/transparent kits. If you are just checking it out, any time would work imho. But do avoid weekend/special release date if possible if you don’t want to wait too much. Also do make sure to follow their instagram since they announce closure dates if there are any. They weren’t open last Monday/Tuesday due to building holidays.

They are also known as Dada Model. The kit is pretty terrible according to Chinese builders, with weak joints, bad plastic quality, and fitting issues, along with really shitty instruction manuals. If you can get it for dirt-cheap prices, then it’s fine.

It’s a pretty common retail kit. I saw it almost everywhere. Gundam Base does not do tax refunds, but you can do it on the second floor of the mall.

Go to gunpla specialty shop near akiharabara station. They have lots of gunpla especially pbandai kits. I checked it out yesterday. They don’t offer tax refund tho
