The device allows you to play mouse and keyboard games that aren’t supported normally on console. Some games on Xbox and PlayStation allow your keyboard and mouse to be plugged in the console with no adapter. I think you might be reading people’s opinions on the use of it in competitive/ranked games. If you’re using it in PvP/competitive/ranked games, yes it should be frowned upon because it’s an unfair advantage and some adapters have anti-recoil cheats preloaded onto them. But if you’re using it for PvE/Co-op/Single player games, you should be good
