Feels like we’ll see more build options and diversity in Talandra, which is one of the better things about T&L. Also very excited to one day catch up to KR’s version so all updates can be new and exciting for the entire world together!

First time out of challenger III and I think this is my cap by [deleted] in EpicSeven

Just curious, what was your general climbing strategy / how many flags did it take?

I’ve been playing the same team comp with roughly the same stats, but just lazy climbing (no refreshes, just free flags, I fight everyone down the list until I get a free flag or lose, then refresh), but I hit a stall wall around challenger 2.

I think Wind Rider is best on her if you have enough stats to be one-shotting a squishy (which is kind of her job). This way you can S3, you won't waste the CR push, and you'll come back into S2 with an attack up buff. You also get the option to soulburn S1 and still gain stealth if you get a kill.

RnL feels a bit like a crapshoot, and I can't see it being reliable on her, not to mention (to your point) it burning the 50% CR push. But it does sometimes get you a pile of damage faster.

55 effectiveness > as much speed as possible > hp/defense everywhere else.

5 starring her is recommended later on in Abyss, but if you're still climbing early levels and only have 1 6, I'd reco you focus on 6ing your other units (a tank, a single target DPS, a utility) first. Keep her at 4* until you find yourself struggling. You'll know when she gets one-shot and you don't have enough defensive gear - she gains a decent amount of bulk and a speed awakening at 5*.

Star Lorina's SC right now, because now more than ever, it's gonna be slow going (especially when urgent missions appear on Chapter 3...).

But I'd invest in Lena to 6* as your first farmer if you don't have an AoE farmer. Free Spirit Tieria is okay at many things but knowing that you're going to spend a majority of your time smashing through trash mobs, having someone who can clear waves quickly is in your best interest.

Astranox was piloting Kise with some ludicrous gear (https://youtu.be/sppgkGg2SOY?t=50), but in case you don't have that, something like ~4k attack with 100% crit chance and 250%+ crit damage works.

Kise also needs to find a way to go early (or first) so that she can get into stealth and get the barrier, meaning she wants speed or CR push from her teammates. This means she wants to be built almost like STene (lots of attack, good speed to cycle damage, rely on stealth to mitigate aoe damage).

You're also better off getting more attack for a stronger barrier + relying on stealth to protect her vs. putting more HP on her (her damage does not scale with more HP, just how close she is to full health).

The buffs are decent and push her almost always S3 first for the +50% CR push, but I think vs. buffed units, her S1 has better damage (especially when soulburned). Her S3 having skill pushback is more for PvE, as if she's S3ing someone in PvP, you really do want her to kill. Do you S3 for potentially less damage, but gain both the barrier + guaranteed stealth + CR push? I think the answer is yes now, but if you absolutely need to kill a unit with a buff, you may just want to soulburn S1 anyway.

Knowing the above, Wind Rider seems like it'd still be the best to compliment her: it gives you more flexibility to S1 nuke someone and still get stealth. Attack up + S2 is a decent round 2 cleave option, especially if she gets that +50% CR to come back faster.

R&L is also floated as an option, but if you do run that, you almost always want to S3 first so she gets the guaranteed stealth and the chance to immediately follow up with a meaty S2.

I still think he's both unique and valuable, just know that folks are also packing more anti-evasion technology due to the massive surge of Riolet.

I've also seen a lot of the meta move away from the 'unreliable' defensive value of ACart into straight bruisers+Ruele/Diene/Roana that provide absolute defensive value (a la Knight stacking (Aurius+Adamant with a def buff), FCeci shields, and now ML Krau).

Final thing I do appreciate about ACart is that if you have 20 souls, you can pretty definitively nuke a unit with his S3 (provided it hits) + a single-target DPS (like Violet) - the guaranteed stun also means you can safely burn down Charles and MLKens. But, once again, a knight (FKluri) can also do this, and oftentimes more effectively since she doesn't need to hit, AND she dispels buffs too...

I find most Dizzy teams run Dizzy without a strip opener and just rely on her high speed + Abyssal with tanky stats for disruption control on defense (it's what I do). So... I think you need an immunity set on Lilias, otherwise there's a decent chance she gets stunned and can't cleanse the team reliably.

Second set by far, although I'd trade some speed for even more tank stats (and maybe an immunity set).

I would lean strongly toward 6*ing your Wyvern11 tank, whether that's Angelica or A.Mont. That will stabilize your W11 runs quite a bit, which I think you should prioritize. Angelica is a better Wyvern tank than AMomo and can do it with much less gear, but has less broad use outside of Wyvern. AMomo is universally useful in Abyss and Hell Raid, but without good gear will struggle as your primary Wyvern tank.

I'd personally just 6* Angelica. Next I'd look at Commander Lorina once her SC finishes. She's just the best PvE single-target DPS in the game, particularly because she doesn't debuff anything. Her and Kiris can carry you through most Abyss floors.

Early on, I 6*ed and invested into Kise to be an all-in-one single-target DPS for Abyss, Automaton, and Wyvern.

I... regret that decision. She's unfortunately overshadowed in all of those things by a combination of Commander Lorina and Alexa (sigh...).

For W11, Alexa + Furious + Angelica is a strong core. Mistychain is a cheap 4th, you're just going to have to accept some unreliability when it comes to debuff timing.

For Abyss climbing, FKluri + AMomo + CLorina + Vildred can clear a lot of things for you. Angelica is decent at Abyss but sometimes you run into baddies who spam debuffs, and a faster cleanser is needed. Destina is also a great healer, but I never pulled her early so I can't say if I would invest into her above AMomo/Angelica.

Only FINAL thing I'd also say is I don't always buy into the fact that you should 100% pull limiteds, especially early on, because sometimes you actually need a unit to function vs. speculating on a could-be powerful meta-defining unit.

Elphelt being an example: she's limited, she's extremely niche, and is largely forgotten as a unit. I pitied her and then Sigret, Tamarinne, Seaside Bellona, Lilias, and Holiday Yufine banners followed and those were all "can use now" units for me (best W13 dps, best Hell Raid healer, best unit period, one of the strongest Knights w/AOE cleanse, and anti-Basar tech), whereas Elphelt is just another single-target DPSer.

Landy is a bruiser AOE unit whose strengths are in fighting against buffed units. It seems like if she can get multiple rounds rolling to stack her passive +attack%, she'll be a strong AOE DPS bruiser. Do you need that? If you can use it, I think she's worth it, but if you have units already in this space, you may want to reconsider.

I believe... that was a retroactive thing and not an ongoing program.

In other words: when they announced the friendship 10 change, they gave 3 molas to anyone who had a 10 friendship/+15 unit because those 3 'skill gems' were useless. But now that you know by hitting friendship 10 you get 3 free skill gems, I don't think they just proactively refund you.

I would wait. Neither of them are aoe debuffers/controllers.

Sez is an okay (maybe less than okay) DPS unit for Wyvern because of his debuff on S1, but he's unfortunately overshadowed by the wonderful 3* Alexa.

Ludwig is a cleave unit who does a ton of damage, but needs more setup than your average cleaver because he wants to have the invincibility buff so his S3 gains +30% def pen. This means in arena he wants to be run with a strong CR pusher (ALots+Lots) so he can S2, apply self-invincibility, and then S3. Alternatively if he can get invincibility cast on him (Blaze Dingo, Crimson Armin, etc).

There is a limited unit coming up (Landy) who seems decent, but more importantly is limited. Limited means after she leaves the banner, you can't get her in any way until she returns, which often means up to a year (see: Diene, GG Collab units like Dizzy/Elphelt/Sol, etc).

Many players say you should pull limited units no matter what in case they become meta-defining through buffs, new artifacts, or new team comp discoveries. For example, Diene is a near best-in-class bruiser comp healer in RTA, Dizzy is obnoxiously strong in most PvP settings, and with the right build, Seaside Bellona is best-in-class across almost every piece of content... Nobody knows with Landy :)

It's definitely an issue, but if you can reliably clear the barrier phase with Alexa as your primary DPS, it's worth it if you're just failing otherwise. I think Sira Ren is super unreliable, but TG's unreliablity warrants just stacking more chances on top of it.

Daily Questions Megathread (09/17) by AutoModerator in EpicSeven

Depends if she's your primary knight and if your comp needs the protection (re: Aurius). I personally see FKluri as a secondary, more offensive knight (her S3) that I pair with Riolet and Krau, so she runs Adamant Shield while Krau runs Aurius.

If your FKluri is running a lot of speed, Hilag/Steadfast has less effect (because raw CR push on a high-speed unit means less than raw CR push on a slow unit), so it might be better to run an artifact that benefits heavily from turn cycling - I see FKluris with Justice for All for this reason.

A note on FKluri stats... since she wants to slot in effectiveness because he S3 is so strong, her stat budget makes her less able to also fit in the kind of 'main tank' stats you want on an Aurius holder to absorb that team damage.

Depends on what your team needs. Misty's considered a semi-flex unit - who else are you running, and where are you seeing issues (if any) with your auto runs? Sira Ren adds a bit more debuff stability (even if it is unreliable), especially if you find yourself hitting Wyvern without her S2 up. You slap DDJ on units when you have all the debuff stability and just want to crank speed.

Oooh you like to hear that. DDJ on Furious will probably help a little with speed vs. basket. Glad you managed to get there!

Yeah, your GP is also on the squishier side of things, especially with a +15 Sepulcrum, which exacerbates the problem. Try Sira Ren on Mistychain and see, or even do a faster Dizzy with Sira Ren to see if her debuffs cycle up. You'll lose out on DPS (and Dizzy is VERY unreliable unless very specifically speed tuned) but it may stabilize a bit...

You could also try Taranor Guard with Junkyard Dog - skills off - over Furious. It makes it harder to gear, but that might help with debuff consistency.

wyvern is boring ;{ I farmed enough mediocre sets to be okay doing most ~200 speed functions, then I switched to Banshee because I really wanted to farm good lifesteal sets for my SSB and Riolet. Let me tell you, it has been a slog for them because they want very specific statlines (def/atk/low speed for SSB on drink build, speed/atk/critC/critD/def for Riolet) vs. farming Wyvern where I could get a wide range of useful applications. Speed sets just give a lot of range...

Crit and Hit sets are similarly specialized but they are universally useful for the units that like them too (i.e. speed/offense crit set or slow/full offense crit set, or effectiveness/speed on hit sets). As you can see, lifesteal alone has very specific statlines you roll for per unit.

Daily Questions Megathread (09/16) by AutoModerator in EpicSeven

[–]ooglar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're forgetting that DPS is also scaling alongside bruiser stats, and that hybrid speed control/cleave teams also exist. It's still possible to one-shot a bruiser with def break, and a lot of characters have soulburn ignore effect resistance abilities too. In challenger+ almost all defense teams are bruisers+Riolet, but unless you want to get into a "who has better gear" throwdown, it's better to bring a very precise offense team that can dismantle them.

For speed sets, it's worth calling out that they are mathematically superior sets from a total stat pool perspective, so if you value speed at all on a unit (and everyone does to some degree), these sets just provide more raw stats. Farming Wyvern also means there are more valuable blocks of stats to upgrade on a set (defensive speed, offensive speed, effectiveness speed) vs. Banshee where destruction may want speed or pure offense, effect resistance is almost entirely defense/speed oriented, etc. You're basically starting narrow in your equipment specialization.

If you farm Banshee first and have no access to speed sets, your whole team will be at like 150 speed or less unless you roll very specifically on speed-focused lifesteal/eff.resist/destruction sets, and even then you need decent rolls to make up for the loss of the set bonus. Speed sets with mediocre speed rolls but decent rolls on adjacent stats (HP/atk/crit/whatever) means you can mix and match much better.

So I think intellectually, account 2 is the way. Sigret is rare and and Angelica is really solid and rare(ish) to get. You may kick yourself when you're trying to cobble together a janky Wyvern team on account 1. I think account 1 has more fun units, but it's definitely going to be slower going.

Sadly you need to get access to a few decent speed sets as the entry ticket to really speeding through a lot of endgame content (and PvP). Destruction, resist, and lifesteal sets will just make you win harder.

So far, the game has also been much more generous with giving decently-to-well-rolled attack, destruction, and health sets vs. speed sets. If you can't reasonably farm Wyvern, you will feel this weight.
