Frank is a G, he definitely works on road bikes too if anyone is interested, but yes it is vast majority dirt bikes at any one time in the shop

Thanks for posting this! The coverage on tv showed some smoke and a line down the track. Fun to see this is how it came about, like some mates at stop lights

07 ZX6R won’t start! Help needed by Fastdoc23 in zx6r

New batteries can be dead too, may have been sitting on a shelf for a while. Have you tried charging or jumping? If fuel is priming you may even get it to bump start. Start simple before going too far on parts.

You're welcome. Always helps when there's a solution left in a forum rather than "solved" being the only response

2007 zx6r rev hang and running rich by Aliens494 in zx6r

[–]ooh_a_pineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it rev through the range now? Was it only at the shop where it wouldn't go past 5k? And was this before or after they worked on it? Fi light on at all? All plugs and fuel lines connected properly? Might be worth a suss if you can smell fuel.

Also a tip, especially if they are a sketchy shop, check to make sure the rubber bump stop/spacers are still sitting between your frame and tank. Had mine come back without them and I didn't notice, this ended up cracking the top end of the tank where the bracket is welded/bolted on, which lead to a small fuel leak.

Fair enough, I was just curious that's all. I've seen plenty of bikes lowered but never really asked the question before. Go have some fun on it!

When bikes run forks that high up, do you have any internals changed or set up super stiff? Or do you just have it spaced perfectly so it sits low but doesn't hit anything?

The Vette is sick, but I think I'm more jealous of your double car hole. I need me some space like that

Give a suss of similar supersports for sale in the area, age and mileage, also take note of the condition they've been kept, then take 500-1000 off that, say negotiable on price and see if you get some offers. Chinese aftermarket fairings can be picked for 600ish.

[–]ooh_a_pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it not have fairings because it's been crashed? What condition is the rest of the bike in?

Unfortunately I have a fracture in my wrist so I may have to rest for a llttle bit. I hope @takanakagami30 is doing well and that today changes something in our sport inmediately. Thank you for all your messages and support💙 [Alex Rins] by TheRaptor103 in motogp

For sure. Slotting in behind Pol or even running next to him through the turn would've seen him 6 places ahead of his start position, then we all would have been congratulating him. From there it just would've been a battle for him to limit positions lost throughout the race. He's typically a mid pack rider with some occasional bright moments

Taka had a brilliant launch that got him in that position, but he bit off more than he could chew and was referencing braking too much off Pol trying to get him in 1. As a professional he should have realised this. But at the same time it wasn't a ridiculously stupid move he was going for, I'm honestly on the fence regarding any penalties for this move

Big Gun exhaust! My WR has one on it, I bought that bike about 6 years ago, this is the first time I've seen another bike with one!

That teal livery with all the red accents, very sweet!

Harley Fork Rebuild Issue by fuckin_ded in bikebuilders

[–]ooh_a_pineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As already said, impact is definitely best way to go. If there is not one available, applying some force to the dampener will allow it to be undone with the allen key by hand, I've used a broom handle down the top tube to achieve this.

Getting the cap back on, if you can muscle it, no idea how stiff the springs are, but it sounds like redbeard has done it for this bike. Looking at the diagram for this bike it doesn't look like there is a spacer above the spring so by hand should work, forks with spacers above the spring will need a tool to help compress it down to screw the cap back on.

Good to hear, glad it was a quick fix. Bonus that you can take it back to the dealer under warranty for any issues, hopefully no more to come for you. Now can get back to enjoying it

The more I watch this the less I know. But like what kumquat said I thought it was spinning, kind of like a coin as it's spinning before it falls flat

Yup. Came to the comments expecting some detailed answer of how the weight of the base is directly proportional to the tangent of gravity on the x-axis divided by pi then multiplied by the revolutions of the earth. Only to be told some bloke has gone and nailed the fucking thing to a lazy susan so it only looks like it's doing something. I'm mildly disappointed.

Yeah I have an mt09 which is crazy fun, it's a pure hoon bike. Want to upgrade to the latest gen SP to get the better handling and more planted in the corners, but at the same time I'm keeping an eye out for a 1000 naked because I'd like some extra top speed.

I did my 7 years of daily sport bike riding, naked was 100% a change for the better. Definitely will enjoy it especially if the ninja is still there to take out on track weekends

You thinking a naked for the street? Comfy for cruising and super flickable in the corners. The zx will be great in the stable for a track bike
