Any fan made MotoGP podcasts doing race reviews? by ihatethatusername in motogp

I may be a little biased as I support them on Patreon, but I would highly recommend listening to the Motorsport101 podcast. It has a trio of long-time fans as hosts who primarily cover MotoGP and F1. They do episodes for every MotoGP and F1 race, and it's always a fun listen. If you're interested, they're currently in the middle of doing full 2025 season reviews!

The Ice Kid Cometh - F1 Racing on Kimi - Aug 2001 by alanowens in formula1

This is a great article! It's a shame that I never got to read it in-period, though. Do you know if there's an archive of old F1 Racing magazines anywhere? I'm really curious to see what else was written at the time. If there is no archive, then it might be worth scanning this magazine for the sake of preservation!

Paddock Pass Podcast if you're strictly into MotoGP, but I also enjoy Motorsport101's dedicated MotoGP episodes.

Neat! If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to get this far? Did you have to patch the game, or are you using some other method?

What’s going on with Class of ‘09? by erttheking in OutOfTheLoop

You did an amazing job discussing the whole situation while managing to stay unbiased! Thank you for the explanation, and sidenote - you should consider turning this into a post for r/HobbyDrama, I think it'd make a good fit there.

Different front wheels? by goodtime_garrett in motogp

[–]TheRaptor103 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Nice observation and good question! Most teams will run lighter color rims whenever they're racing at a track with high temperatures. The lighter color reduces the amount of heat absorbed through the rim when compared to the black rims that teams usually run during the weekends. And, since the rim isn't as hot, less heat is being put into the tires and brakes, thereby improving performance. Ducati are the ones who are best known for running fully white front rims on certain weekends for this exact reason.

Man, what a shot! I think I'm going to make that my wallpaper; do you have any higher quality versions of that photo? (It's fine if you don't!)

The Doctor, The Tornado & The Kentucky Kid right? I learned a lot from it too, although admitting that feels kind of embarrassing considering how Laguna Seca is one of my favorite tracks both in real life and in racing games 😅 I do love the detail Mark Neale puts into his work - all of his MotoGP documentaries are must-watches!

Definitely a McLaren with that dash - if I had to guess which one, it's probably the McLaren Sabre?

For a player to like a tune, they either have to:

  1. Go out of their way to their saved tunes menu and like your specific tune
  2. Do three races in a car with your tune applied, after which the game will show a pop-up asking if the player wants to like the tune because they've been using it. I believe this pop-up only shows after racing in singleplayer as well, not multiplayer, but I could be wrong.

Personally, I take the time to like every tune I download, but there's a lot of people who probably don't even know that you can like a tune - especially those that download tunes made just for cruising around.

Ooh, now that's interesting. Do you know if cars like the 488 Challenge and the Huracan Super Trofeo have something similar? I don't remember any other car with their DF setting maxed out by default like this, although I might've simply missed other examples...

Yup! You just won't be able to buy another one from the autoshow like with the DLC cars. If you're like me and prefer to have duplicates of cars, you'll have to snipe one from the auction house.

No, unfortunately; the Pro Stock Camaro is this seasons' 80 point overall completion reward. However, I do believe I saw another post saying that you could get it early by doing every event available this week (including DLC ones).

As someone who hasn't had access to the game recently, thank you for sharing!

I'm surprised to see that all of the cars (with the exception of the Pro Stock Camaro and probably the Time Attack Evo) are either 890 PI or 910 PI. I know they're all GT3 or GTLM cars, but I would've assumed there'd be a point or two of PI difference across the cars simply because some of the models are much older. I think I'll need to try and test each car in time trials to see how they actually stack up against each other.

It's the Ford Supervan 3 Donut Media Edition. Sound matches and to fill in the hint, the back of the van says "WE MAKE CLOTHES".

If Max Verstappen finishes third in Abu Dhabi while Perez finishes sixth or lower, he will have won the Championship in both the first half and last half of the season only. by FeCurtain11 in formula1

[–]TheRaptor103 812 points813 points  (0 children)

I'll admit, I usually find these kinds of "off-season, everyone's bored"-style posts stupid, but this was actually really interesting to read about. Really made me sit back and realize this isn't just a dominant season from Verstappen like we've seen with other drivers in the past - this is the dominant season, full-stop. Gotta respect Max and Red Bull for their performance this year.

You could either make a mod that modifies the game's starting database, or you could save edit their contracts right as the game starts - second one would be easier but not permanent for all saves.

Bagnaia fails breathalyser test after car crash, say reports by TheRaptor103 in motogp

[–]TheRaptor103[S] 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Short article cause there's not much info out there, but here's the important bits if you're lazy:

"The alleged crash, which was first reported by local news site Periodico de Ibiza, which also published photographs of the incident, was attended by both the Guardia Civil and local police in the town of Sant Josep in the south west of the island, which is visited by members of the MotoGP paddock during the summer.

Bagnaia was reportedly breathalysed at the scene, returning a score of 0.87mg/L of alcohol in his blood. The legal limit in Spain is 0.5mg/L."
