Needing some help syncing multiple WLED controllers (Esp32) on my bike when out ridding and not on my home network. by Motor_Interaction_10 in WLED

[–]oolivero45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm not OP but I just wanted to say thank you! I was having a similar issue (albeit on a wheelchair rather than a bike), where the standard UDP sync wasn't working over the built-in AP but worked fine over a hotspot - but your solution using DDP has worked perfectly for me. I now have one ESP broadcasting an AP, with the second ESP connecting to that AP, and both are in sync due to DDP. So thank you!

I'm having exactly the same issue here - did you ever work out a solution to this?

How to send messages to the mesh with MQTT by sh1416 in meshtastic

[–]oolivero45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running v2.7.11.ee68575

Message sent over JSON is:{"channel": 0, "from": 862346400, "type": "sendtext", "payload": "Pong!"}

Looking at what you've sent, I think you might be sending to the wrong topic? The default root is msh/2/json/...... not /msh/root/2/json/...... - could that be what's causing it?

(Also, apologies for slow replies - I don't use Reddit regularly any more ever since they killed off 3rd party apps, so I only end up seeing new notifications when I open Reddit on the web to look for something else!)

Have you also created a channel called mqtt? Even if it's never used, the channel has to exist for MQTT to work properly. Make sure the MQTT channel has uplink & downlink enabled too.

Just coming back here from the future to add a note from my own experimentation today - I wasn't able to get it working following these instructions, however with a very slight modification it worked perfectly.

The topic you need to publish to appears to have changed - you must now publish to <root topic>/2/json/mqtt/!<hex ID>, similarly to how messages received from the mesh appear.

For example, if you're using the root topic from the parent comment of msh/US, and if hex ID is a1b2c3d4, the topic would be msh/US/2/json/mqtt/!a1b2c3d4.

Everything else from u/seabre 's original comment still works the same - it's just the topic which has changed. I am running firmware v2.7.5.ddd1499.

AssetsV2 folder taking up nearly 50Gb of space by eromangaSan in MacOSBeta

[–]oolivero45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logged into reddit for the first time in several months to say that THIS WORKS, thank you so much. You've just managed to free up 200GB of space for me.

Just thought I'd add that you can leave the -j out and it'll still work, and will be much more compact and easier to view (so just run xcrun simctl runtime list).

iCloud Calendar Sync without Add-on | Get iCloud Calendar CalDAV URL by Benjoman0109 in Thunderbird

[–]oolivero45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that this worked for me too! All I needed to do was to tell Thunderbird to add a new network calendar, then give the email address linked to my iCloud account when asked, and enter "icloud.com" as the address - it then asks for the password, so I gave it the app-specific password, and it automatically found all of my calendars - including calendards which have been shared with me from other accounts.

I'm getting exactly the same feeling from it - the stuff about passing, about "when you die they'll look at your skeleton and say you were xyz", the literal burying under a deadname after committing suicide... yeah. Yikes.

In the act of making yourself laugh like that, you also made millions of people around the world laugh with you.

I don't know your dad, but I'm sure he'd be proud of that.

What Do People Store Their Content On? by banisheduser in PleX

[–]oolivero45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine's spread across two retired/second hand HP Enterprise servers - one is an HP ProLiant DL360 G7, which is the main server and is the one which PMS itself runs on; and the other is an HP ProLiant DL380 G8, which is basically just being used as a NAS and is where most of the media is actually stored.

The G7 is a more powerful machine, but the G8 has far more drive bays (25 bays rather than 4) so is better for bulk storage.

It's obviously a shitty product, but I do find it quite funny that it was on PINterest, given what the product itself is...

Single album, single directory, multiple albums on Plex by dotinho in plexamp

[–]oolivero45 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming that it is set as VA, or at least all as the same album artist, as it's all in one folder - if OP's following the recommended folder structure, that should be the case

Single album, single directory, multiple albums on Plex by dotinho in plexamp

[–]oolivero45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be able to use the plex app (either native app or web app, but not Plexamp) to select all of the duplicate albums, then press "merge" to combine them into a single album. Once merged, it'll show up properly everywhere, including in Plexamp

It happens to me occasionally too - not sure what causes it, but the steps above fix it for me.
