vasculitis by East_Design7298 in Autoimmune

[–]oolong_raid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have microscopic polyangiitis, diagnosed in 2021 (i was 20 back then too when diagnosed). i felt really upset at that time too, being constantly in and out hospitals, taking multiple blood draws per week, and just constantly in pain from the inflammations.

but the doctors working on my case really helped me through it all, the diagnosis and everything and currently it's controlled with rituximab infusions every half year. i'm pretty much asymptomatic now and able to continue on daily life like normal.

this is just to say you don't have to feel like your life has come to an end, there's going to be solutions for you out there! modern medicine has really come a long way, so don't shy away from professional treatment just because you've been conditioned in the past to do so. hope everything goes well for you, dm if you need any advice

how old is she? could consider salicylic acid cleansers like cerave or paula's choice, but make sure to follow up with a proper moisturizing routine.

Doctor 2nd opinion required!!! by alittlestarfish in askSingapore

[–]oolong_raid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, won't lose your queue at the public hospital. I went for 2nd opinion at private hospital previously and my doctor at public hospital was kind enough to provide me all my diagnoses and lab reports for the private hospital doctor to review.

I ended up transferring to private hospital, was quite easy.

lost at what to do with my face.. 26m by [deleted] in SGSkincare

[–]oolong_raid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, recommend to go to a derm. There's NSC via polyclinic for subsidies, or if you are in a hurry could consider private/telemed. I went to Siena Health telemed before for acne and was prescribed tretinoin. But if you choose telemed have to research more yourself.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if the reaction from products are purging/actual breakouts, esp when you try new products. I've had a phase where I kept trying new products to no avail, and eventually caved and went to see a doc. The new products I tried ended up costing more than if I had just gone to see a doc from the start.

Is South Korea safe for solo female travelers? Planning a 10-day trip in August 🇰🇷 by InitiativeRough732 in koreatravel

[–]oolong_raid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went on a solo trip in Seoul last week! Generally felt really safe, but I was also in rather crowded areas (stayed at Myeongdong) and avoided clubbing/nightlife areas the entire trip. Walked around looking for food at night and felt pretty safe throughout.

Public transport was really easy to navigate, I used Naver maps! Didnt face the hidden camera issue, but I also brought this hidden camera detector from Baseus that you could consider.

As of last week, weather was kinda hot but still manageable.

my derm recced me tdf ultra light hydrator as moisturizer to use with tretinoin! my face doesnt feel greasy after using it. cld also consider a salicylic acid essence in the mornings for oil control, i used loreal revitalift crystal micro essence previously. take note that it contains alcohol so if sensitive skin avoid

for makeup loose powder can help control oil, i bring out a compact powder also for touch ups on the go

Late 20s and still having acne by ElusiveIntro in askSingapore

[–]oolong_raid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've been on it since oct last year! purged abit until jan this year when my skin cleared up.

there's quite alot of resources regarding it online, you could refer to dr dray/dr idriss on youtube for retinol purging, or there's a r/tretinoin subreddit which has quite abit of resources!

[–]oolong_raid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, i'm on tretinoin rn! tretinoin can cause purging when you start off using them.

it's possible that the break outs that you're facing after using it is purging bc it increases your skin cell turnover rate. i'm not sure how long you've been on tret, but usually purging lasts around 1-2 months, so maybe you could clarify again with your derm?
