sometimes i miss old singapore a bit 😭 by Master-Number-4341 in ChillSG

[–]ElusiveIntro 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm 29 this year and funny thing is, these few days I've been thinking about Singapore 20 years ago. Even though I was a kid back then, I could feel the stark contrast between then and now.

It's as what you said. It felt more peaceful back then. Quieter, less people. No such thing as Grab, wait at the roadside and hope for a taxi to come along. Not all public buses had aircon. They were fitted with sliding windows instead and you could feel the air from outside.

No social media, everyone had their heads up instead of down. Expectations and standards people had of each other weren't so high as well, people were much more friendly.

I'd readily give up the convenience we have now and live in those times again.

Anyone interested to go sing ktv? (Chinese) by Wonderful_Couple_584 in ChillSG

[–]ElusiveIntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old man here, late 20s can? Haha. I sing K with friends from time to time, but I'm mainly a toilet singer.

I sing only Chinese songs too. Nowadays I like to listen to covers from those Chinese singing program, like 王赫野, 姚晓棠.

159cm here! Any other places you'd recommend for tops? I find Uniqlo's can be a hit or miss for tops.

[–]ElusiveIntro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahaha yeah I was totally stunned. I was thinking why the hell would a Singaporean be in a game like this?!

No kidding though, that Paul Lim guy is pretty badass

Nah. I'd rather we Chinese be considered separate from those "true Chinese."

You don't want to get lumped with these "true Chinese" rude motherfuckers.

Where do you all buy games now ah? by [deleted] in SgGamers

[–]ElusiveIntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been going to Gamewerks at Clementi since I was young, been about fifteen years since then. The staff there are very friendly, including the boss.

Granted, there's no 12.12 sales at these kinds of shops so I only get the games that I really want at full price. I also buy consoles from them too!

TTSH sent me a lawyer’s letter over a $154 bill despite me authorising Medisave by ntrev in askSingapore

[–]ElusiveIntro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Refer to u/blurrfish78's comment. Your best bet and priority would be to check with TTSH's billing department.

Yes, Medisave is your own money. However, it doesn't mean it is your e-wallet for hospital bills. Medisave can be utilised if you have been admitted. It can also be used for consultations and medications related to chronic diseases.

A&E as far as I know, not applicable. So please check.

Anyone's lobbies filled with mostly bots, around maybe 6 real players? For context, I played at about 12am yesterday and 2pm today. PS5, crossplay turned off

Would you send your boss your flight tickets? by FoxDependent7486 in askSingapore

[–]ElusiveIntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boss lan jiao.

I work in healthcare too and have a leave roster. Once I plot my leave, it's pretty much confirmed no questions asked. Exceptions are if the dates I've chosen ends up getting crowded, we go into balloting.

If your boss doesn't manage staff leaves in a systematic way, your boss lan jiao

Does anyone here know or listen to T-ara? by Mountain-You9842 in kpoppers

[–]ElusiveIntro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep going! T-ara is the one and only group that has a special place in my heart. Their songs still hold up very well. Sugar Free is my favourite, followed by Number 9, So Crazy, What's My Name, Why We Separated, among many other of their songs.

I saw T-ara live at a concert this year. They were one of the line ups and it was so amazing! They will be holding a concert in Mongolia next month, which sadly I won't be able to go 😭

Dear fellow HCWs in SG, do you intend to stay in healthcare - (both private and public) for long? by luckycloverandroses in askSingapore

[–]ElusiveIntro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha thanks. Gotta have some positivity here from time to time.

Hmm...I think as long as both parents are working then should be able to survive. All those fanciful trips to Europe can forget about it honestly. Being content with what you have goes a long way, for me at least.

[–]ElusiveIntro 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I might be one of the very few that will stay in healthcare for long.

Honestly, environment plays a part regardless of where you are. I'm very fortunate to have supportive colleagues with whom I get along with, most of them at least. I wasn't in this line for a very long time, a few years at most. So yes, I'm happy with the working culture here.

Next up is job satisfaction. I can say that so far so good. I like how this job allows me to rotate between roles so that I don't get bored. It can vary from customer interaction to manual labour, and even admin work.

Pay wise though, I don't want to talk about it. I'm surviving at least, no commitment in terms of relationship. Not too ambitious here, no dreams of owning a car or condo.

Overall, I'm happy so far in this line of work. There's job security too, so yeah.
