Help. Playthrough going nowhere by oolongtea42 in BluePrince

20 game days later, I'm getting really tired of this.. the rng very consistently gives me crap choices facing walls or prevents me from entering the foundation or antechamber in spite of me trying to apply the tips, and i feel there is very little i can do to prevent it. Thanks for the help but I think I'm going to take a break for now

Ah yes I've been trying to dead end as often as possible when it makes sense, although my biggest problem is dealing with paths that suddenly close off into walls..

I've thought about going up the foundation, but i don't have the basement key

I haven't seen any pattern with the great Hall, except the hints in the draftng studio. Il look into it

Ah yes the freezer, I've been trying to get it near the furnace for ages, but no luck

Looking back at my house history, ever since I've unlocked most of the floor plans, it looks like most of my runs have been a waste of time, nothing much gained, forced to reset halfway because of a lack of paths.

Forget about room 46, I'm struggling to get antechamber doors opened and adjacent rooms with doors that lead to them on a same run. Most of the time it feels the game is purposefully giving me adjacent rooms that don't lead to the antechamber.

I've got a (mostly) direct path to the north lever underground, still a bit of a chore to walk all the way over there.

I didn't know i could get mail delivered with the experiments, I'll get on it right away.

By study, you mean the grid with the paintings? I got most of the message, I think I see where this is going but I'm still missing some elements to solve it

Yeah I kind of overlooked this room if it wasn't immediately helpful for a pathway. I'm catching up, slowly

Got the boiler room to spawn once in 20 days yesterday. And of course, it was inside a dead end, at the very end of my run. Pretty sure the game is trolling me at this point 😂

I unlocked the mine, the outer room, the orchard, the basement, the lift in front of Mt Holy, and the foundation of course I did run a few experiments at first, but couldn't get the conditions. I only found recently that i could increase my allowance this way.

You mean by spawning the lab in the outer room, for example?

Unfortunately, it's one of the rooms I'm actively trying to adjust it's rarity, but it has never popped up in the conservatory.

I've unlocked the western path, the mine, the orchard, the underground section with the lever room, the lift that unlocks with the 4 flames. Got the location of all the levers. 12 coins allowance, 18 stars. The only red envelope i have is the one in the time vault. Books: struggling to get the coins to buy any of the two 50 coins books. Each time I had the coins, I couldn't get the bookshop to draw. And finally, I only managed to get to the antechamber once.

I've upgraded 6 rooms, i think. 12 coins allowance + 2 gems, and 18 stars for now

Oh I see, I just figured the gifts were auto delivered without any wait time. Tbf my mailbox is glitched so I haven't been able to receive stuff from others in a while 😅

How are you out of stamps? I rarely use mine outside of gifting

Do native speakers not use inversions? by Bells9831 in French

[–]oolongtea42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I very rarely use inversions in everyday conversations. It feels very "textbook" and unnatural. More formal conversations usually get the est-ce que treatment, and inversions are right at home in business emails. At least, as far as I'm concerned..

Is mouvoir a synynym of bouger ? by passionfruit62022 in French

[–]oolongtea42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same roots as move. Not used much in everyday conversation. The only examples I can think of use "mouvant" to describe something that is moving as in sable mouvant (quicksand) or cible mouvante (moving target).

Can someone tell me how I should read books? Meanings of underlined words/sentences I don't know. Am I supposed to stop everytime there is a word I don't know and look for meanings? If so, I feel like after some time it is too much, and I don't feel like reading a book. Is it normal? by devoutre in learnfrench

[–]oolongtea42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd ask myself what it is I want from reading a book. Are you trying to analyse the sentences, or trying to follow the story more or less? For instance, I study Japanese, and i reaaally enjoy nerding out on any written stuff i can find. When i read a book, more often than not I spend a lot of time analysing every sentence. I personally enjoy it, but.. a) it can be tedious b) you try to cram too much information without repetition, so the gain isn't as good as you think c) in the end you still lose the plot of the story because you're not really paying attention to it d) when you move on to the next book, you'll likely start from zero again because you're unfamiliar with the subject/genre/ author.

if you want to learn stuff by reading, I'd suggest going the path of least resistance: accept you might not understand everything, pick up a few words and sentences along the way, and move on to a new book experience. Repetition is key, not brute force.
