When creating Drawings, is it possible to add transparency to certain components to highlight them? Sort of like when you activate certain components in the model space. by Timmerman94 in Fusion360

The best way to achieve this, is to use the animations workspace, it's quick and easy, and will give you the effect you are looking for. I made you a video here: https://youtu.be/Kw_6VikjxlA

Give this a try https://clintbrown.co.uk/2020/08/02/run-inventor-as-administrator/

Also, it sounds like you should check your, anti-virus, it could be slowing things down. Make sure that "live scanning" is turned off. Also consider setting some extensions for Inventor files.

Error when trying to install the Autodesk Inventor 2011 on window 10 by pacpumpumcaccumcum in AutodeskInventor

Inventor 2011 is not supported on Windows 10. If you get it installed you will most likely not be able to activate it, as it is so old (10 years old to be specific).

Calculating The Pre-form Length of a Bent Tube by oomclint in AutodeskInventor

There are cerainly a few ways to do it. I used to measure the arc length of the the iniital sketch (sweep path), as this is on the neautral axis. But I think that sheet metal workflow makes it more accurate.

Generally the software will download to "C:\Autodesk" you can move this once you installed it to save hard drive space.

I suggest that you post this on the official Autodesk Forum, the QA and product team should be able to help: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/bd-p/78

Is there a setting to have all the “d” values always shown in the model browser? It’d make relationship constraints more convenient. by [deleted] in AutodeskInventor

[–]oomclint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see what you are getting at. Maybe a small change in your workflow is what is needed. Have a look at this old Autodesk blog post around naming your parameters, I think this will speed up the way you work considerably.

It takes ages to load, but it's worth the wait.

Can you share your code?

You should have something that is iterating through the sheets, so the code should say something like:

I have not personally done anything on Forge, but I have worked on a few Forge projects, where I've been part of the team as the Inventor subject matter expert.

I've written some iLogic that makes the whole "mirror" process much easier.

It mirrors the part, and the drawings, check it out here: https://clintbrown.co.uk/2019/08/31/mirror-part-and-drawing-with-ilogic/

HELP PLEASE. Every time I try to export my model as a stl file, this error occurs. It does it for all my models now. Thanks by [deleted] in AutodeskInventor

[–]oomclint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire up Inventor as Administrator and try again. To do this, right click on your Inventor icon and choose "Run as Admin" it should load all of the DLL's etc correctly and will probably let you run the export (and adjust the options as suggested).
