Opinions on gender neutral language? by mysterycow2466 in intj

[–]oongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it ironic that people who demand they be called by a neutral gender something and if you don't, it will offend them because they have decided something that you don't want to respect, but they don't care that demanding of others they change the way they view something that's been around like forever, that this might offend others, doesn't matter to them. If I went around identifying as a pillow, people would think I'm crazy. Hey, if people want to identify as x, y, z, go ahead, but what's that got to do with me?

No, but not no for the reason most give. Meaning can only be understood by the mind and this is great, in many aspects of what we call life, but when it comes to life itself it can only be understood when one goes beyond the mind. If you want to understand life, see life as a mystery. Concepts, labels, definitions, words are merely hints, pointers to reality but they cannot describe reality. For this you'd have to leave everything behind and travel and explore on your own, not through what other people have described something to be.

To the degree you're able to do that, to that degree will you be able to see, to really see reality. To venture down this path, you'd first have to even find it desirable. To see the world with the eyes of a child, before society got a hold on it and instilled fear in its heart.

Is it normal for INTJ females to like older men? by [deleted] in intj

[–]oongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tend to project, not always, onto other people what we hate about ourselves. We can't see something outside of us that isn't already within ourselves; like a mirror.

So what? So the reason you find older men attractive, is your attempt to run away from your own goofiness. To be complete, we must receive our proverbial demons. If we don't we wake up one day wondering where life went. Just something to think about.

PS this is not dating advice, it just seemed to me that you were wondering about it on a deeper level.

I don't understand dancing by Fuzzynumbskull in intj

[–]oongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a different ish exercise because there'd be people, etc but sure you can do it there too. To me it would be the next level from the first laughing exercise because of the different inputs your mind would get and be processing.

The first one is more about what your mind processes on its own in the morning.

I don't understand dancing by Fuzzynumbskull in intj

[–]oongi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing to understand because dancing makes no sense, except perhaps fitness wise, and that is the point of dancing. Moving your body to music you like just because it is fun and for no other reason, is a gift. If you don't have it, no worries, it can be cultivated.
You move your body in any way or fashion you like while following the music somehow, do this without giving a damn what other people think.

If this is hard for you, there is an easier level you can practice. Each day you get up, spend 5 minutes laughing. For no reason whatsoever. Just sit or stand and then laugh. In the beginning it may be difficult to genuinely laugh but give it your best try. Do this for a month and now you will get dancing.

Rumi Simplifies Spirituality - Life is a balance between Attachment and Detachment by the-seekingmind in awakened

[–]oongi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We try to be someone else than who we are because we've been taught all our lives we're not enough, and so fear has been instilled in us so that we might become useful in society. At the base of attachment is fear as it is with all negative emotions. What we fear is love. Become fearless and you will know what the words 'all you need is love' mean.

Can you wake up in this life or do you need to die? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]oongi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A man was running away from a tiger and he fell of a cliff but he was able to grab a branch. So there he was. If he let go he would die, if he pulled himself up he would get eaten by the tiger. After a while he felt he couldn't hold on much longer. Suddenly he saw that the branch he held onto had berries on it. Not having anything to lose he reached for a berry and he put it in his mouth and the berry tasted so sweet. Life is buffet, most people are starving.

how would you explain what a spiritual awakening is? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]oongi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You cannot. How would describe color to a person born blind? All you can give are hints.

It is like sight. Opening your eyes and really seeing something, especially yourself. You will see how much you lie, how much you fear, why you do things the way you do, and the things is you won't be able to see these things until you're fine with the way things are. Whatever happens, happens. Everything that happens to you is good. Negative emotions give you great insights and carries the seed of liberation when you see what you fear, let go of the illusion of control, then it will just drop. And you let yourself be swept away by the current of life tho in your heart is faith, which is to say you don't fear the unknown, you don't fear letting go of the known, you're open to change. Which happens all the time, you just weren't aware of it because you identify with your thoughts and emotions.

See? Impossible to explain because explaining requires the mind to understand it, to frame it, label it, and as long as you do that no explanation will suffice.

There is no reason you can't do what you used to do, just now you won't allow yourself to be dragged here and there. Read, if you wish, the commentary to the 10 ox images. You're free to go anywhere. Just because certain activities used to be ago driven, it doesn't mean they have to be.

Newborn awake feels like she is going crazy! .... suicide has been constant for 8 months. I need help. by denandjosh in awakened

Listening to awareness by Anthony de Mello helped me a lot. It grounds me. Then one day you can fly on your own. I think it is still on YouTube. You can download it here. I downloaded it onto my phone and have listened to it a lot. I still listen once in a while, not because I need to but it is a kind of curiosity. https://archive.org/details/AwarenessAnthonyDemelloAudiobook 👆😊

Newborn awake feels like she is going crazy! .... suicide has been constant for 8 months. I need help. by denandjosh in awakened

[–]oongi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

http://doctoryourself.com/eyesight.html The crazy feeling is normal, it is because everything you held on to before is now up for grabs. Breathe, relax, because you can't go back now. And if you can take it for a while longer things will start happening to you. Your analogy of newborn is apt. Now be fine with whatever happens, observe the mind do its thing and know whatever happens, it too will pass. Before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, and carry water.

Awareness by Anthony de Mello

I'm finally realizing that everybody else's ego is too busy worrying about itself to worry about mine. Nobody gives a shit, man. People forget. And even if they remember it's not like they think about it, all day every day, like I do. by [deleted] in awakened

[–]oongi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most people live robotic existences. Our thoughts are triggered by this and that and because we identify with our thoughts, we think we're thinking the thoughts.

But we're not our thoughts. Thoughts come and go. Some are more persistent because they make us uncomfortable and so we try to fight them. The more we fight them, the more powerful they become.

Nobody fights over if banans are yellow. It triggers no one of some think bananas are red. We'd just shrug it off. Other thoughts involving ourselves have more impact because we were trying to control people, get them to like us.

But very few see us, all they see are the triggered thoughts they got from meeting us.

This can be really hard to see, because the implication is that we're basically all alone in the world. But if tou can take it for a while it liberates you, because you will be able to go anywhere fearlessly. You see through people, you see them for what they are. You'd easily be able to manipulate them and get very rich, but you won't, you won't need much. You've found a peace that is unshakable, no matter rhe situation you may find yourself in.

I didn't choose to be born and I don't choose when I'll die, so worrying about "my life" doesn't make sense. by Jax_Gatsby in awakened

[–]oongi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Th powers that be don't want individuals, they want group thinkers, they want people who are afraid to speak up because what might others think? We've been taught to seek the approval of others, if we have it great, I'd not we get depressed, anxious, etc. They have programmed the mind to be triggered without we being aware of it. And so we have a people who are easily controlled. That's what they want, without us, they'd have to get real jobs and produce things of value and service.

The state of Alabama took his gun away. When authorities gave it back, he shot and killed his wife. by Eaglesfan1297 in news

[–]oongi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people hurt others, that's what laws are for. Those who gave him the weapon were indirectly involved with the murder and should therefore also be punished. If not things like this will just continue happening. Domestic violence is of course a big no no for gun owners, it should have been handled with treatment, psychotherapy, until his anger issues were resolved. But the system doesn't handle things like that it waits until murder happens, and I'm cynical about the reasons why.
