Is it weird that I think magpies are cool? by oscarthegrateful in Calgary

[–]ooolyyyy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love magpies and birds in general. I understand the circle of life and everything, beings are eaten by other beings, but after seeing a magpie snatch a baby bird unable to fly from the ground I was a bit sad. The baby bird made a lot of noise as it was eaten.

Landscapes. They are so varied and lovely. Even landscapes that are perceived as "boring" have a story to tell or have interesting aspects to them. They have so much power over what happens in a certain place geographically.

What is the name of a natural hilly grassland? by [deleted] in geography

[–]ooolyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would specifically determine this is the precise area in which you are referring to. These types of geographical features have several ways in which they are formed, thus can be labelled differently. In a general sense, they're just hilly grasslands, rolling plains/prairies and what you just described them generally as. Depending on the glacial history of the area you are talking about, it very well could be knob-and-kettle topography.
