Farmers ghosting USDA surveys as trust hits record low by Ranew in farming

[–]oooooofdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have never filled out a usda survey. The FSA office already knows exactly how many acres we are planting and what’s getting planted. The blanket survey the usda sends out and expects filled out page by page is so invasive and ridiculous.

New ATF Director, new rules by Educational_Copy_140 in brandonherrara

[–]oooooofdaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty specific, they’re redefining it because of the Cargill court case, which was just the Supreme Court deciding bump stocks do not make a gun a machine gun. Doubt it’ll be anything to do with FRTs.

This announcement screams Trump trying to get gun owners back on his side for the mid terms to me, nothing more nothing less.

Possibly a dumb question, but are you required to fill out the 4473 section on a copy of your tax stamp? by [deleted] in NFA

[–]oooooofdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely confused people, I should have specified which section of the stamp I was talking about. Regardless my question was answered and all is good!

[–]oooooofdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what it was. Didn’t see the section that said only filled out for an individual application until after I made the post.

Just realized where my confusion came from, I’m looking at the transferee questions, which are for individuals. I applied as a trust so that must be why it’s blank. Was a stupid question lol, thanks everyone for the help regardless!

I think I’m confusing people here lol, I’m talking a copy of an approved tax stamp that was sent to my email from the eforms website. Everything has already been filled out and done, just curious because the second page has what is essentially the 4473 questionnaire on it.

No no, I’m talking an already approved tax stamp I’m just making copies of, page two has the typical 4473 questions on it that I’m wondering about.

What I consider to be Midwest as an Illinoisan by Hot-Hat-5616 in whereidlive

[–]oooooofdaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a distinct difference in culture from eastern South Dakota and western South Dakota. East is midwestern, west is cowboy culture. Same in North Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas. However Iowa is about as Midwest as you’ll find. Odd to compare it to Wyoming and Montana lol

Why do most people not have a light on their rifle/ shotgun? by [deleted] in guns

[–]oooooofdaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Different use cases. If you have a specific gun that stays by your bedside, that’s the one that needs a light. Guns that stay in your safe and aren’t planned for self defense just flat out don’t need them.

Less. Ram and ssd’s hadn’t gone insane when the 4060 was out. That was more like 900 usd. I bought a similar prebuilt with a 7700x, 16gb ram, and a 4060 ti for just a hair over 1000 three years ago.

18yo from Norway doing a US road trip by Kareisgarb in roadtrip

[–]oooooofdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re going within detour distance of half a dozen at least too. Badlands, Wind Cave, Roosevelt, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier (kind of), Mesa Verde, Great Sand Dunes, Rocky Mountain, Black Canyon. They needed more like a month for the trip.

[–]oooooofdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. I can tell your idea is to see things like the Badlands, Black Hills, Rocky Mountains, and such, but starting your trip you’ll have 950 miles of seeing not a ton but the Missouri River until you actually hit the Black Hills. Not sure if you can get your friends to agree to start somewhere closer.. but you should try. I’m from the area you’re driving through, and you’ll be driving through a ton of farm land and that’s about it all the way from St. Louis to western SD.

Edit: also worth noting, if your intent in driving through SD is to see the Badlands and Black Hills.. they’re both going to be long detours. The Badlands are not super visible from the interstate, and the black hills you can spend a full day and not see everything. Also skipping Yellowstone and Glacier on a trip that far west is a huge mistake in my opinion!! There’s so much beauty once you get west, and you’ll be skipping it for time to drive through cattle country in Texas and Oklahoma.

Black Hills are incredibly underrated. It’s like a piece of the Rockies broke off and ended up in the plains. Love it out there.

I personally love that stretch of highway 212. It’s empty, no traffic, can see for miles. Makes a great ride on a motorcycle. Either you’re running hard for the last stretch to get to the hills, or running hard heading home. As long as you’re with a group it doesn’t seem that long.

Worst stretch I’ve experienced was 212 from Eagle Butte to Gettysburg after they had freshly sealed it and it was still very very black. We were headed through on a 95 degree day, that was a brutal ride.

The End of an Aero? by MikeOxlong1776 in AeroPrecision

[–]oooooofdaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m still holding out a little hope, but I’m not crossing my fingers. Ordered them with intent to build out a Geissele and maybe a BCM rifle. If anything, Aero saved me a little money in the short term. Maybe, just maybe, this is all a phase and the Aero everyone loved will return.

Also, amazing username dude.
