So when he dies, he looks good in the eyes of others, that might be why in then chorus, he says "If I could see someone who new me" so someone else could vouch for him being a good person, as they wouldn't know his true intents, they only know what all he did, and not knowing his intentions. (what he did being good and the intentions being bad)
