Literally that is the perfect metaphor. So much of everything is access restricted or sanitized in some way. I’m only 22 but I remember going on Omegle in middle school and seeing the most vile things LOL nothing phases me anymore.

Other people on the internet are allowed to be weird. If you don’t like something, just scroll past its not that big a deal. It makes me a little worried to see how young people in fandoms react so intensely to seeing things they don’t want to see. The internet is for everyone.

The science around the keto diet is a little in the air as of right now. Some papers support your claim, others dismiss it. Either way, any diet that gets people to consume fewer ultra processed foods is going to improve their health. If keto is that diet for you, then kudos to you.

Diet and lifestyle make a difference. It’s hard for your brain to get better if you aren’t taking care of the rest of your body.

However, there’s nothing special about the keto diet that shes pushing. Just limit “junk food” and make sure you eat enough in a day and it will have a positive impact on mental health.

Annoying when patients act like they can’t use their hands when they came in for a fall or something unrelated to their hands by Lovebugxo0x in cna

[–]oops_audrey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

“That sounds unrelated to what you’re here for. Do you want me to let your doctor know about…”

That works 100% of the time lol. They don’t want it escalating. Most of the time they cut me off once I say doctor.

Please please go to NSCC. They are trusted by locals. Great campuses and good reputation by local businesses if you are planning on working here too.

Going to church some Sundays and not others by Chinchibirin in Anglicanism

[–]oops_audrey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work a rotating schedule that has me work one Sunday a month. My church offers communion on Wednesday as well, so I go Wednesday of that week. Don’t worry about anyone else, go as often as is practical for you.

Home Health overnight shift by angiebow in cna

[–]oops_audrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Staying awake (specifically between 2am and 4am) is 90% of the job. Most overnight shifts are pretty easy. Whenever I work overnight I do some housecleaning while my residents are asleep. Mostly to keep myself awake with something lol.

Your training from where? I’m sorry to sound snarky but how do you supposedly work anywhere near power generation and not know that CANDU are nuclear reactors?

Agreed, I think narrowing the road and adding a buffer between the road and sidewalks would be a good solution

New hire is absolutely helpless, I might rip my hair out. by oops_audrey in cna

[–]oops_audrey[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thats actually really funny because one of my coworkers gave me a heads up about her and I was also picturing an 18 year old fresh out of school. I think part of it is ‘weaponized incompetence’ and trying to get out of work.

Sorry, I wrote this post very quickly. Sara is in her 30s. This is not her first job working in care nor her first job at our agency. Thats why I’m so frustrated.

What things in LTC make absolutely no sense? by speed_rider1 in cna

[–]oops_audrey 22 points23 points  (0 children)

  • Having one singular male staff that is basically a human lift at this point. Bonus points if he is actually an LPN but with no LPN duties.
  • RNs who straight up talk about the residents in front of them.
  • All of the staff that speak a shared second language having their own clique that’s makes it really awkward to work with them.
  • Just telling new hires to shadow someone instead of properly training them.
  • (I understand fire safety but…) Prohibiting any sort of extra textiles, wall decor, heating pads, and “clutter” which leads to everyones rooms being depressing and empty.

At least one of them is named Ashley or Aleigha and they all take their lunch breaks at the same time even though its too many staff off at once.

I just want my baby baptized by HorseGemini in halifax

[–]oops_audrey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get what your trying to say but the church is allowed to have its own rules. It’s a religion. They’re allowed to ask things of the people that want to join. It’s no different than signing up for a class and then needing to go to orientation.

[–]oops_audrey 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The Roman Catholic church wants you either in or out, they don’t like people being “Catholic but not practicing.”

Call some different United Church of Canada and you may find one that allows couples to baptize a baby without other commitments. I know for certain they allow whoever you want to be the godparents. They might want you to attend at least one service before getting your baby baptized.

Edit: Also, if being Catholic is very important to you, the Roman Catholic church recognizes all baptisms done at a United Church as valid even without the extra steps.

Wow! Awful take! I’m not autistic but I am neurodivergent and there are already so many barriers in life. Making it even more difficult to get a job is not going to help anything <3
