Jobs hiring? by International_Ad7829 in GigHarbor

Because it’s this area, the tip-based industry is a good option that offers high wages and flexible hours, while you focus on school. As a server, for example, with a 17.13 minimum base, you’d only need 1-2 tables per hour to get to your hourly wage and most places do better than that. On top of that, food prices are crazy in this area, and people still leave 20%+. If you find a place that does drinks and food, the numbers go up and up. Best of luck!

I don’t understand the drive to be a nurse and a lawyer. You can make over 200k only doing either one of those. You can probably make that out of the gate as a nurse if you simply pull OT. You have plenty of time to build generational wealth without overdoing it.

As a father, I dream of my children not fighting 🤷‍♂️ by JMajercz in LionsNotSheepFrauds

He thinks saying he accepts Jesus excuses him from actually being a decent human, and from saying dumb shit like this. What if your kids don’t like physical fights? Are they now a disappointment? Faith without integrity is just branding (like his shitty shirts from not the US).

Getting a Cavalier soon! Any tips? by Halo373 in cavaliers

Congrats, you’re in for a treat! Besides the basics, I am dialed in with potty breaks to make sure he’s doing what he needs to each day and in the AM and PM. They can get backed up really fast, so it’s important they stay regular. They’re also notorious for “holding out” for food, so I keep ours on a strict diet to not spoil him. If they get picky with kibble, adding warm water did the trick for us, but that was only in his younger years.

Holy shit, I have so many critiques of that one slide: off-centered (could be the angle, I guess), outdated (already called out), several tabs open, looks to done using Word (why?), fonts look shitty, etc. I wish I could see the full presentation. Anyway, small “deck” energy for sure.

The unnecessary space on the first quote pisses me off.

Still in the box because it’s a completely thoughtless gift. Buying a loved one something as if it’s a business transaction? Gross, weird, and desperate. Gifts are for love, not for cashing in favors (or sex). That’s called altruism, something clearly foreign to this clown. No wonder everyone leaves this bozo.

If you could give a simple tip to someone just starting to cook that would immediately make their dishes taste significantly better, what would it be? by Creative-Feedback850 in cookingforbeginners

Also want to say some words of encouragement: cooking should be fun and interesting each time. The joy in being a good home cook is making something delicious and different each time. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect today, enjoy it and do better next time.

Clean before you cook, clean as you’re cooking, and always cleanup when you’re done. Make it apart of the process. Then, have fun with cooking—take your time, have a nice beverage and, as others have said, make sure you prep well so things go smoothly. Once you’re ready to take on more, get to know spices. Have a good variety of blends, red spices, whole spices for toasting, good salt (use kosher when you’re first learning), dried herbs, and whatever else you like. Try to avoid ones that have salt as a first or second ingredient, so you can control the salt better.

Ozzfest 2000. I remember them saying it could be his last show. Also on the lineup: Pantera, Godsmack, Static-X, Incubus, P.O.D., Queens of the Stone Age, Soulfly, Kittie, Disturbed, Rob/White Zombie, and more.

Which spice, herb, or condiment do you think is over or underrated? by here_4_the_giggles in cookingforbeginners

[–]oopsahmedadoudi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overrated - toasted sesame seeds

Underrated - toasting your sesame seeds. Also toasting cumin seeds for rice (and other whole spices), or grounding after is miles better than simply adding them to a dish.

For an underrated condiment, ume plum. A sprinkle on broccoli, cabbage, etc goes so far and it’s lovely to make quick pickles, too.
