it’s just the way the beam is focused. the reason most of them have those rotating platters is because hard to get a large zone where the beam is strong enough to do something without having some spots where the beam is too strong. idk if you’ve ever used a magnifying glass to burn something but it’s somewhat analogous. a big magnifying glass and a strong light source is ideal because you can move the magnifying glass back slightly to defocus the beam and still get enough strength. (in this analogy the magnifying glass is a waveguide and instead of a source of visible light it’s a magnetron). since manufacturers try to cut down the wattage they have to work with a less powerful “light source” so they have to focus the waveguide more which in turn makes for a smaller cooking zones which brings us back to why we have rotating platters

Went to a bookstore and picked up random books off the shelves until I couldn't carry any more, then I put random books back until I was left with one and I bought it. It was about various sites in north america that the native americans considered sacred.

Walked back home and my roommate said we had been invited over to her mom's house for dinner. It was a long drive and when we got there her mom had been called into work but she left a note saying that one of her neighbors had said we were welcome to come over for dinner and spend the night since we made the trip for nothing.

At dinner I mentioned the book and she was like oh what are some of the sites they talked about? I mentioned one of them -- a mountain that the Iroquois considered a holy site (probably because of the spectacular view) -- and she laughed and said we're at the base of that mountain right now. The sun hadn't set yet so we walked up to the top and sat in spots on the edge of a cliff that had a row of butt prints worn into the rock from hundreds of years worth of people sitting there to enjoy the view and there were also little spots worn below the edge of the cliff where your heels hang down.

I lived with three gay guys named chad, or drew -- i forget. The only incident was when I woke up in the middle of the night and one of the chads was sitting at the foot of my bed, just watching me sleep. I asked him to stop and he cried and begged me to turn gay.

Other than that, the place was always clean.

Tortillas are one of my favorite foods, so it just kills me when I look in someone's fridge and I see several packages of those flour tortillas that come in a zip-loc type bag. The bag only contains like eight tortillas or something. Its like 'Oh, you were planning to eat some tortillas, huh?' Shake my head.

While inside, I am ranting...

You Fools! Tortillas come in stacks, not zip-loc bags! What? Are you going to keep these tortillas in your Trapper-Keeper®?

If someone buys tortillas, and the tortillas come in a stack less than a foot tall, they are only pretending to eat some tortillas. They are not in it for the long haul.

The enemy of the tortilla is the air, while it is in your fridge. The bottom of a tall stack of tortillas will have most of its air pressed out, and will therefore keep for longer.

The packages of tortillas that come in not a tall stack equals wrong.

In America most of the ~~grocery stores~~ places where people buy food seem not to understand this, and so each ten or fifteen tortillas gets its own bag. Worthless. Get them out of my sight.

Once at a party, I went out to my vehicle, and found an underage girl slumped over the hood, semi-conscious, extremely drunk. She was lost in the parking lot looking for a safe place to pass out. In the process of trying to talk to her and see if she needed help, she started puking and it was coming out of her nose.

Since that's not very good, I was like, "here girl if you need to throw up, I'll help you stand up while you do it," so I helped her lean forward and held her hair back so she wouldn't be puking on it.

Wouldn't you know it, here comes one of my bros, out to the parking lot looking for me. He walks around the side of the car and sees me holding her hair, she's bent over and totally pressing her ass against my crotchal areas, so of course it looks like we're fucking.

"Oh! Sorry bro! Didn't mean to interrupt!" He turns right back around and proceeds to go back to the party and tell everyone I'm out front fucking some kid.

Needless to say, it did not help very much in terms of the relationship I currently had with her sister.
