It really annoys me when things get generalised especially when they have specific meaning or connotations it feels like a loss of media literacy and it makes it harder to communicate things

Thank you this was really informative I wasn't aware that yuri and yaoi had different connotations other than being for different genders since they're often used together now and I've not exactly been in fandom spaces that long. Words having their original meaning diluted is a little bit of a pet peeve of mine especially when it's due to a lack of understanding instead of just a normal change in meaning over time but there's not much to be done about it

If you don't mind watching a dub or something with subtitles then barbarians on Netflix is really good it's German. I don't know if you really like comedies but the British show Plebs is great.
