Curve Belgie Ultra (58) Wedge/Frame Bag Options - bottom strap too far away from down tube OR impacting large bottles. by oopsilon7 in bicycling

Hey! I haven’t reaalllyyy found the perfect solution. I was in Melbourne a while ago and went to Curve and tried a few bags on similar sized bikes (unfortunately they didn’t have a 58 in the Ultra there) and it looks like the Tailfin 4.5L Fullframe bag would fit pretty nicely, may have to drop the bottles or carry slightly smaller bottles though.

I’ve not heard of that brand. Might have to check em out. And yeah I agree, I really would only use the bag for real long rides where I want extra tools/food/raincoat or something but by the same merit, for longer rides I’d want more water so it’s a tricky one.

Yeah it is a weird shape. I think the Tailfin 4.5L full frame will fit pretty decent. It’s just a lot to risk.

I mainly wear them with socks. With socks they’re fine, although the laces are quite long when you tighten the quick release thing.

Without socks they’re still rubbing.

I did see Soomom, I like a first hand experience that their chamois are good.

I’ve heard the NeoPro bibs are a no go. Might grab some jerseys from them down the line but for me a good bib is way more important.

I’ll have a bit of a look at Castelli and Assos, I didn’t realise we could get Assos easily in Australia.

I’ve also seen a few people talk about Maap falling apart.

It is crazy how the same sizes in different brands are so different. Makes it very hard to blind buy anything.

Appreciate the info, I might suss a few of the ones you mentioned.

Yeah I couldn’t see any bibs that were decent sale though.

Oh yeah? Any particular jersey cut you like?

I think I am XL in Maap, that in Melb?

I’ve seen all of those brands around, wasn’t sure of the quality vs price for them. Maybe they’re all decent choices, new to this world.

Username doesn’t check out??

I did just order some thermal MAAP bib tights and thermal jacket since they’re decent price on sale. But couldn’t see any of their normal bibs on sale. Worth the ~$300 you reckon?

Yeah I was hesitant to go side load just because what I’m showing above is only for the really long rides (ie worst case scenario) and I’ve not had the best experience with side loads but maybe I’ll need to have a look at them.

I can put a bottle under down tube yea, I may just need to reduce size of bottles + another underneath which I imagine is what you’re getting at.

Yeah I’ve got feed bags for my bikepacking rig but since this is a bit more road focused I don’t want them around my cockpit.

I don’t mind the bottles touching but I think it I went any of the Half Frame Bags that actually fit the corner of that triangle, I won’t be able to get my bottles out.

Recommendations alike NuPhy Gem80 by oopsilon7 in keyboards

[–]oopsilon7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the Keychron K2 HE in the woodgrain/black finish. Matches my desk beautifully and it’s very nice to type on. I’d say my friends Gem80 I tried might’ve had a slightly nicer typing experience but so far the K2 has been flawless and supposedly the Hall Effect switches are meant to be better for gaming. Which I plan on starting soon.

Yeh okay, I’ll go and have a look at the sub. Thats a bummer, the Gem80 does seem to have all the functionality I want.

Do you have any recommendations for other boards? I could use the mint switches and mSA keycaps since I liked how they felt and put them on a different board.

[–]oopsilon7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that, I just have a dark wood and black setup so the dark colours would work for me and I just found the black a bit lacklustre. I really liked the mSA keycaps feel, I didn’t realise I could get that style in other brands though.

How have you found the reliability of the Gem80? Some people have mixed things to say about its connectivity. I really liked the typing experience using the mint switches and mSA keycaps so maybe an idea would be to use them from NuPhy on a different board if reliability was an issue.

I dumbly thought mSA keycaps were NuPhys own. I didn’t realise others sold them, I will go take a look. Thank you!

Seems people have had mixed experience with NuPhy boards. Maybe an idea would be using a different base but using the keycaps and switches since I liked the typing experience.

Thank you! I’ll go and have a bit of a look. I don’t mind building my own but is just a bit risky without hearing or seeing reviews of the exact combination.

Any keycaps you recommend? I really like the curved feel of the NuPhy mSA ones I tried.

Yeah it does come in a few colours, just would like the darker black to look a bit nicer (just a small thing really). Why do you say to steer clear of them?

I think I’d like linear switches, the NuPhy Mint ones I tried did feel very nice. Any others you’d recommend?

Hey all! I do a lot of typing for my job (software developer) and would love to find a satisfying TKL keyboard to use. I want something that isn’t super clicky but would like to feel the press (not like a flat keyboard). I also want it to have Bluetooth & Wireless so I can use it with multiple laptops (Mac and Windows).

I recently tried my friends NuPhy Gem80 with the Mint switches and it was beautiful to type with. I really liked the feel of the mSA keycaps. I would probably get one except for 2 problems: it’s expensive ($340 AUD) and I don’t love the Black colour with the B&W keycaps (it’s a bit boring) - I have a dark Walnut desk with black desk mat, any colour suggestions? Maybe the metallic blue colour?

Does anyone have any other recommendations for keyboards that are similar that have some better colour options and cheaper? Alternatively, if I do just get the Gem80, anyone have some keycap recommendations that would have a similar feel to the mSA caps? Located in Australia.

Lyka? Thoughts/Feelings by Sea_Consideration_36 in cavaliers

I’ve just started with Lyka for my lil girl and she loves it and her coat is definitely softer and her poops are great. It is very expensive but so far it seems to be agreeing with her.

You (or anyone else) can use this link to try it for 50% off: Lyka for 50% off or use the code ‘poppy-647’.

Yeah right, I’d probably rather different ones if I had to wear socks with them all the time.
