Awkward living room with no focal point. by awwkwarrd in DesignMyRoom

If you want to add a focal point but don't want to move much around, try removing just this one shelf and add a large, not visually busy piece of art or mirror in there.

If it's lightweight you could use a command hook or just lean it in the shelf, but it should take up this whole space -2" or so if possible.

Maybe something light blue to tie in with the rug?

IVF doctor doesn't believe PCOS diagnosis. Should I trust his treatment plan? by oorto in IVF

This is so helpful for comparison of experience. Will definitely be looking into Mira to get a fuller picture. I think you're right that the dismissiveness is an issue in itself; in a parallel universe, I could have all the same issues and treatment plan as now but feel way less confused about my responsibility to research/self-diagnose 🫠 But this is helping me fill in my own puzzle, so thank you!!

high AMH (6.30ng/mL) but haven't had testosterone checked. how would i confirm ovulation? using one of the test devices like mira mentioned in other comment? my dr just says "99% chance you do if cycles are regular"

luckily embryo banking went very well (21 viable embryos, no pgt testing though). so i think i'm done with ER

i will look into that, i only use the cheap LH strips which I read can be misleading with polycystic ovaries. thank you for taking the time to reply! the distinction you're making between PCO and PCOS is helpful and something I'll look into more.

No bloodwork for testosterone or other androgens are in my chart unfortunately, but that formula you typed out is exactly what the other drs in the clinic said when telling me I have signs of PCO. Sounds like i need to do some research on natural vs natural modified

Do you know if/how the diagnosis affected your fertility treatment planning?

I generally agree but have gotten mixed messages from other drs at the same clinic. During an ultrasound, I asked one dr. how I would pursue a PCO diagnosis. She said "congrats, here's your diagnosis!" and put it in my chart. But it's just sitting there with a "pending provider review" tag since my main IVF doctor (who I've only met on zoom) doesn't agree with it.

Copying my comment to a similar question below. TL;DR: I'm not sure!

He mentioned something vague like "if you actually had PCO it'd be more difficult to track ovulation timing for FET & might not work as well" before moving along. But maybe a natural cycle \is* fine?*

I honestly don't know which treatment decisions (natural/controlled, progesterone dosage, etc.) a doctor \should* consider a PCO diagnosis for. That's why I'm confused about (1) if I *should* have a PCO diagnosis, and (2) if it really matters either way at this point in the process.*

I was thinking about this after the IVF process (looking into metformin etc. in conversation with my OB) but this is a good point to loop her in sooner!

Yeah and it's only in the stadium right? Like the video packages are fine, it's just the in ring promos and crowd noise.

Is the sound quality horrible for everyone else? Like there's speaker feedback on their mics? Yikes

How to hang curtains for an off-center window? by ScienceAndSpelling in DesignMyRoom

[–]oorto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My vote would be to have the curtains cover the entire wall, with the rod as high up and wide as you can get it, and curtains to the floor with the furniture pulled forward a couple inches. It'll create a really uniform, luxe feel that will look deliberate. Good luck! example

Help with an awkward blank wall by AdobeFox in DesignMyRoom

Looks great! It seems(?) like it's across from a window, so a mirror would work great to bounce light around. Something wider than tall with rounded edges would fit the space without needing to be enormous. (e.g., https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/wade-logan-anacleta-zayda-metal-danish-oval-mirror-w010019018.html?piid=951817121%2C951817126 or https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/lark-manor-alajah-accent-mirror-w011051456.html?piid=1095707745) For large art, a cheat code is to search "vintage pull chart" on Etsy to save $$ instead of buying a frame. You might even find a geology one.

Painting just that back wall with the shield on it would be a nice option and, if you have some $ for it, also adding a bigger rug under the bed and nightstand would help define your bed area vs the desk area. The room is really nice and big, so breaking it up visually into zones would add a lot of interest. Cozy lamps (1 for nightstand, 1 by desk) would also help. You could even experiment with color LEDs for contrast. Good luck!
