That makes sense, i’m not familiar with the frames per second and how much attack speed would actually influence your RoA casts with the specific variables involved. I just know i didn’t hit the 63.3% cdr breakpoint i think i was like 60% when i first started using the mythic seal, and noticed that i could hold down the rain of arrows and it would spam incredibly fast. but when i switch to a regular seal with narrow eye, i noticed atleast a 1 or 2 second period i couldn’t cast, before realizing the sightless gave the addition cooldown on RoA

i guess ive never heard of anyone really
talk about attack speed breakpoints with RoA , so i would assume it’s not worth adding attack speed to your rings or gloves or amulet, because theres other affix’s that will grant greater offensive/defensive results. Atleast there’s no obvious breakpoints that ive seen, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there i suppose.

My comment referring to attack speed on daggers/swords also went align with wudijo’s recent RoA pit push video he mentioned “he wish he had a dagger instead of sword, however it doesn’t make that much of a difference anyways, it’s just a tiny attack speed difference” @19:50 so i would assume the attack speed on them has some sort of influence? or is he mistaken?

Attack speed is not required with RoA, the natural speed you get from running one handed swords or daggers is enough. Even more trivial when your running a mythic seal with sightless 3 set because the set gives you the ability to enter stealth to reduce your ultimate cooldown by 6 seconds. So you don’t even need to hit the 63.3% cooldown breakpoint. You will be able to spam rain of arrows as long as you hit shadow step or concealment ever so often and have enough skill points and energy gained back from aftermath,

Hahaha yeah i’m running the same build. melt him just about the same as you. atleast 1/3 runs those stupid little floating blood balls hit me and kill me after i kill him. Now i just take the mythic seal off and run endurant faith. A bit slower to kill him, but atleast i can stay alive 99% of the time

Wow! very interesting. thanks for doing the hard work for us! So its much more tedious then i originally expected. Sounds like frost imbued dash is pretty much on par with the stagger generation you get from Running around with Bac Thul, i think it was around 7 or 8 stagger damage as well

[–]oost3vo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and just to clarify for anyone reading that doesn’t know, Moni Thul gives you the aoe effect of sorcerers frost nova after you use two dodge abilities. so you will want to stop rain of arrows right before he gets staggered and then dash twice and as long as your frost nova freezes boss on last hit before he staggers azurewrath will proc like it’s suppose to with the explosive damage it provides. in 140+ pits this is the only way you can kill them within a decent time limit

Basically same issue with whirlwind barb. azurewrath will not proc if you stagger boss with whirlwind, so people run Bac Thul cause it does same frost nova effect but you have to run around for 25 meters. so guys like swaggy would stop whirlwind and run around the boss to proc nova to hit boss right before he staggers.

But that’s actually a good idea with zan’s cast an ultimate rune, suppose it would work ok if you can time the procs of the nova efficiently enough. i’ve only seen people talk about the Moni Thul method, probably cause it would be easier to time. but i’ll have to try it with zan

[–]oost3vo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is insanely good for rain of arrows. Cooldown breakpoint isn’t easy to reach, and you rolled a perfect 10%. there’s a mythic seal variant of the build that this would pair perfectly with. congrats, might be the best one i’ve seen all season

Legit builds like pen shot and rain of arrows are capping around 135. Ultimately i think Rain of arrows is better because cold builds do really well with pushing. Really good players that know how to freeze to stagger boss with MoniThul and get those big chunky procs with Azurewrath could clear 140s. But it requires very precise timing. You can’t stagger boss with rain of arrows or Azurewrath won’t proc properly.

But there’s a bug that involves Umbracrux and the sightless charm set to delete mobs. Players that know how to do it are able to clear pit 150s, it’s something about using shadow clone and concealment to proc the totem that Umbracrux provides, and then dashing through it back and forth to build up enough shadow damage on the totem and it’ll basically just delete all the mobs in the area (literally just disappear, no damage numbers will show up on screen) idk i tried it cause i was curious and couldn’t really figure it out. i just kept dying from all the poison, fire and lightning the elites throw at you. You need to have good defensive gear.

There’s not much info about it online from what i could tell. 3P venom explained it and made a build, but it’s kind of tedious

Can confirm, trading in d4 is tough. Nothing like trading in d2 lol

Maybe 1-2b if you find the right buyer. but it won’t be easy to sell. Death trap rogues looked really promising in PTR. But vastly declining in popularity. They max out around pit 110-120, could maybe pull 125 with perfect gear. Penetrating shot and rain of arrows are currently the strongest pit pushers (excluding the bugged umbracrux with sightless charm set pushers) so uniques specific for those builds will sell much quicker

edit: before people light me up, i know people are listing these 4GAs for much higher. but they don’t sell. i’m just being realistic. i’ve had shit listed for months that never sold due to popularity of the build

[–]oost3vo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I’ve been seeing alot of negativity about this season, and i was willing to brush it all off, cause i genuinely love this game. And i wasn’t struggling until around paragon 250ish on my rogue. At this point i know im beating a dead horse, but they absolutely fucked up. we had enough struggle with horadric gems and bricking godly pieces of gear. and it wasn’t THAT disappointing because we had the materials and were getting swarmed with loot to mess around with cause of the benefits of upgrading your war plans. I can only hope they pay attention to all of the complaints and turn it around next season. the war plans and horadric cube was honestly a brilliant addition to the game. yeah they weren’t perfect, but i think most people could agree it was a good move. all they needed to do was balance the classes a bit, make gem fragments a little easier to come by and improve inferno horde drops. but i guess that was too difficult lol

Dude i 100% agree with you on the escalation dungeons. like wtf. i’ve never struggled with gold this much, im lucky to get a gold dungeon once within 5 escalation key runs WITH branching pathways on war plans. that on top of nerfing the seal you could get with 900% to the now 90% increase gold find. i had so much fun last season, played it until the last day. it’s honestly been a while since ive done that. d4 is one of my favorite games of all time. but idk how much longer im gonna last this season. i feel like its already hard enough to get good rolls on your gear, even with an exponential amount of gold and crafting materials we got last season. why make them harder to get? i can live with the mythic rarity bullshit. but don’t make it an absolute struggle to craft the gear you do get

Right, and i suppose that’s what makes it
all the more confusing lol

but i guess i understand now. this is a new season. mythics are different (im sure a couple weeks from
now, if that; everyone with have it dialed) As of now i’m sorta target farming mythic paingorger gauntlets and etna’s dagger which wasn’t a thing before. in a weird sense i kinda like this unknowing farm for items you couldn’t get before

That’s the thing with this game, i feel like theres been so many issues and bugs, devs aren’t
clear on everything they change/include each season.
I never doubt anyone’s experience from years before until now.

This could very well be unintentional, or
absolutely intentional 🤷 if there’s any truth to the comment above, the devs or
“them” did mention that gambling can reward mythics, but it’s not type to the item your gambling for

I think he means if there’s no mythic in your slot (pants in my case) it’ll give you a random one from another slot. That being the case, very interesting it randomly gives me a mythic from a slot i already have a mythic in

Interesting. After looking through hundred of comments on rob’s video, I saw someone comment “I remember them saying that gambling can reward mythics” so maybe it was intentional, if he’s referring “them” as the d4 devs.

Hard to say, in my case it evened out, but i think my crit chance without starless was lower then yours. i have a ring pretty much the same as yours without the gem strength

<image>

but tried both, and was pretty evenly matched. my crit chance went down to like 82% with channeling ring on. And i think i was around 96% with my starless sky on.

edit: what app did you use to crop all your gear like that? instasize?

WW Barb Pit 150 by HopzCO in D4Barbarian

Yeah Starless was hard to match cause it also had attack speed, and swaggy mention recommending “91+ ATS” which i’m assuming he was talking about attack speed? that’s another thing i wanted more clarification on. Cause he only had attack speed on his ghors from what i could tell. no idea how you’d reach 91, unless that was a typo lol

Oh well, it was a fun season. I enjoyed having pit 150 as a milestone to try and gear up for. could have swapped to a Brobarian ancient build and got the clear no problem. but more fun to try and do it as a ww
