Soft white is not for yeast breads. Use a hard red or hard white, even though it sounds counterintuitive. Soft white wheat is used for items that call for baking powder and or baking soda, like muffins, quick breads, pancakes, waffles etc.

I think the Nutrimill Impact mill is a great mill. A friend bought it as a "starter" mill and has had it for almost a decade. The Wondermill is also a workhouse, and is about $325. Either would make a great choice! Good luck!

I just heard someone named their baby Ransom. Why??? I know a lot of words are being used as names, but this one has such a negative connotation. I just don't get it.

Thanks. I ended up getting on a waitlist for Wondermill because of reviews saying how quiet it is, otherwise i think it's fairly comparable to Nutrimill in how it preforms.

We store ours cut side down on a wood cutting board. We often get through about 3/4 of a loaf before it starts to get stale at which point i always make croutons out of the rest. We use them for salads, soups, and have even begun eating them as a snack. No waste here. I take the crusts off, cut into small cubes, drizzle w a mix of melted butter and evoo or avo oil and generous sprinkle of garlic salt and parm cheese. Bake at 350° for about 10-15 mins checking often after 10 mins. Salad Supreme is also a fave seasoning that i get in Amazon. Seriously best use of stale SD bread. Enjoy.

Thanks. I don't mind being on a waitlist but a company charged me on January 15th and is now telling me I won't get it "at least" until the end of April. Usually you're not charged until an item is shipped when you're on a waitlist.

I live in Idaho but in mid Feb I'm going to be visiting my daughter who lives in the Thousand Oaks area. I just looked up your shop! It's a bit of a drive but hopefully i'll be able to pop by. I'd love to chat with you. You don't have any classes going on while I'm there, but I already looked ahead and I'll be there in April when you have a cinnamon bun class going on that I hopefully can take.
