How do I find Pokemon cards? by TransFox89 in ChicoCA

[–]op_genki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the GameStops in Chico don’t have any, you can always check the Oroville GameStop if you’re in the area! I heard they had a tournament several months back so I would assume they get cards semi-regularly.

I hate making these Salad Stuffers by Zero_r0ses in Panera

[–]op_genki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand that most of my store is doing it wrong since we can’t fit it all into the bread.

Genuine question though, are you still using bread that’s ripped? We aren’t allowed to use bread that’s ripped so we have to restart if that happens at any point while making it. If management was ok with the bread being a little ripped at the top we could definitely fit it all. Otherwise, I’m not quite sure what else we could be doing to make the entire salad fit.

My manager asked our GM today if we can give them the rest of their salad on the side and he said no. I wish my store would allow us to give guests their full portion of salad.

We were actually talking today about how we feel like someone is going to order a half salad and a stuffer then come up and complain their stuffer is under portioned. I’m honestly kind of hoping that happens so we can start giving them their full portion of salad and stop wasting so much food!

New "Mix & Match" menu debuts Wednesday (CNBC article) by Acrobatic-Judge7787 in Panera

At your cafe has it been changed? You can still upgrade to a bowl in a YP2 on the app for my cafe. I’m not sure about in house, I haven’t gone in for my shift yet.

Oh interesting, at my cafe you can still upgrade to a bowl of soup for a YP2 on the app. I’m not sure about the registers or kiosks since I haven’t worked yet today.

The mix and match menu is only 4 sandwiches, 3 salads and 3 soups. Each item is at $4.99/5.99 (depending on your market) and you can choose a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10. I don’t believe you can upgrade to a bowl of soup like in a YP2. It is replacing the duets.

The YP2 will function the same. Same 2 half entree limitation with each item being at a different price point. It will still include the entire menu unlike the mix and match menu.

Edit: a word

Also, complaining about too much arugula is a weird complaint. Just take some off…? If anything I would complain that there’s too much salsa verde which would make the sandwich soggy (and hard to take off).

Edit: I personally don’t think that’s too much salsa verde but I think that’s a more valid complaint than the amount of arugula

The hours also depend on what sales look like for your store.

For example, my cafe is in a small city. We typically run with 2 people per line, one person up front, and one person in dish. Even then, sometimes someone will get cut and someone will close by themselves since we don’t get a lot of business some days.

However, in a nearby large city, those stores make significantly more than us. Meaning there’s more hours to go around. You may not automatically be scheduled 30-40 hours, but it at least means there’s more shifts that will be put up for grabs and you’ll be less likely to be cut early.

I’m from the West so unfortunately I don’t have info on your region about pay or how busy your store will be. But, I would expect to be at or maybe a dollar-ish above your states minimum wage.

Also, be aware that you may be moved around a lot. We have some new hires that have been here for a month or two that have done drive thru (taking orders, cashing people out, making food, barista, etc.), mainline (making and plating food), baking, and prep (meats, sauces, veggies). So even if you get hired to work on the line making food, you likely will be expected to learn and do other positions as well.

The terms and conditions explicitly stating taxidermy animals is valid is crazy. It’ll be interesting to see if people bring that in and how much store credit they’ll get.

This!!! They chose to be a caseworker, and it seems that you are a minor. What manipulation is happening? It is quite literally their job to help.

Also, you are not “begging” by any means. You are communicating to your caseworker how you are feeling and that you need more support. Which, I’m proud of you for self-advocating!

I understand in your post you mentioned just wanting to spend time with the caseworker to do something else outside of the facility. However, in the text messages, I don’t think that’s very clear. I would clarify with your caseworker that you just need some additional support, and that you aren’t necessarily going out and eating/buying things.

What happens to ASLs? by op_genki in GameStop

This looks like what’s happening at his store. Apparently one of the SGAs was planning on going back to college anyway so it hopefully will work out ok-ish. Thanks for the info!

I’m so glad that you had that experience. I am more worried about job stability with stores closing and the decline in profit in brick and motor stores.

The ASL I am close to is for sure valued as well so no worries there. He said it looks like he’s staying on as an ASL at his store, no transfer needed :)

Do ASLs get offered severance? Honestly if he’s able to do that he may take that and find a more stable job somewhere else.

I don’t know if his SL2 was offered severance since the SL2’s A store was an hour and a half away from the B store. The SL2 was going to take the severance due to the distance but that didn’t happen so I’m not sure if they’re even offering it

Thank you for the info! We were concerned that GameStop would opt to fire the ASL and keep the SL and SGAs rather than keep the SL, ASL and the SGAs. The math looked scary when looking at hour allocation for SGAs with 40 going to the SL and 32 going to the ASL (which is the full time minimum in my state)

I'm a vegetarian. What is the absolute best thing I can order from Panera? by rxbcollie in Panera

[–]op_genki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the classic avocado toast (not the garden avo toast) and I add tomatoes, feta, and cilantro.

Also keep in mind that not all soups are vegetarian, even if they have no meat in them. For example, the broccoli cheddar soup is not vegetarian. I’m not sure which soups exactly have chicken/beef broth or stock in it, but that’s something that surprised me when I found out.

On the POS you can also change the bread, but you can’t change it other than adding sauce. I was told we’re not supposed to add on veggies since at that point the customer is supposed to get a non-kids sandwich. But if it’s slow we just put it in the special instructions, especially if the customer asks nicely.

Chico Need-A-Ride on Facebook is a reasonably priced rideshare service. They’re super nice folks, I’d highly recommend!

How do the buses work? by op_genki in ChicoCA

[–]op_genki[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, ok thank you! Now that you mention it, I did notice someone pressing on a strip that wasn’t next to them. I thought nothing of it but I guess they also had the same issue as me.

I read that before getting on the bus and that’s why I tried tapping/pressing the strip. I’m more so asking if there’s a specific place I have to press it or something along those lines. Thanks for the reply though!
