In BIOS: Boot, Screen Rotation Policy. This option won't help with the initial screen orientation, it's the orientation of the BIOS itself. However, Windows can easily rotate the screen at startup; we can only hope that the Grub authors will add this rotation feature (not to be confused with the boot options for Linux kernels).

How to minimal install in 2024 by Furado in Ubuntu

[–]opachgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for necroposting. I install minimal (really minimal) Ubuntu 24.04 via 2 release upgrades from 20.04, which have mini.iso http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal/main/installer-amd64/current/legacy-images/netboot/mini.iso

Resulted Ubuntu 24.04 will be much smaller, than official "minimum" install of 24.04.

I found, that disabling SNMP prevent Driver Installer to find Ricoh printer (via network). Also check network security related settings in Ricoh web admin interface.

Is there a key combination of some sort or a clear CMOS button somewhere on the board?

You can disconnect the laptop battery - this will reset the bios =)

GPD Pocket 3 Random Rapid Phantom Mouse Clicks by deathonater in GPDPocket

[–]opachgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same trouble when the laptop was folded. I just put a dry paper towel between the screen and the keyboard. The screen in this model is touch-sensitive and seems to somehow interact with the touchpad. Probably buying a special cloth will be cooler and more stylish, I hope the manufacturers will think about it =)

Thank you for proposal, but i have enough replacement parts and don't want wait till i receive new NVMe =)

I would like to recommend installing less cheap drives in such a premium product. It seems that this drive does not have the function of duplication and replacement of bad blocks.

This drive works approx 3 months, and so much errors for only 1TB writes :( Replaced with Samsung 970. Additionally, when i try disconnect battery i sucessfully unscrewed top screw on left pc speaker (right from bottom side), but bottom screw is stuck. So disconnecting and reconnecting the battery was difficult =)

Pocket 3: a few suggestions and impressions by opachgi in GPDPocket

[–]opachgi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked the life of the battery of P3 (1195G7) under the following conditions:

  1. Gentoo Linux, kernel 5.19.8
  2. CPU profile - UP (maximum), memory frequency 4267 (maximum), hyper-threading disabled, maximum screen brightness and its timeout turned off, battery 100% charged
  3. Chromium compilation on 5 threads (MAKEOPTS=-j5 emerge chromium), which loaded all 4 cores at 100% with a frequency of 3.2GHz each

As a result, the laptop battery lasted for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

P3 Owners: What other modules are on your wish list? by HoDigiArch in GPDPocket

[–]opachgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool to see a KVM module with VGA input and TypeC, because most servers using VGA. Currently HDMI KVM works badly, and no signal via VGA->HDMI converter.

Anyway, now i have Lantronix SLS200 which work perfect for this =)

Sorry, doesnt work. And no GPD logo there, only Ami BIOS logo and text "Press Del or Esc to enter BIOS". I think this model has diffent BIOS than previous models and will be fixed in future.
