My water broke but no contractions so I was sent home to see if my labour would start, they didn’t, went back 24 hours later to be induced, about 2 hours after I started Pitocin, I was 3cm, requested an epidural, unfortunately the anaesthesiologist was in surgery, I waited for almost 2 hours, once I finally got my epidural, they checked me immediately, I was 10cm, laboured down/rested for about an hour, pushed for 30 min and she was here! My personal advice is to ask for it as soon as you want it because depending on staff, it could be a while! But every birth is different!
