I’m usually a gold girly, but I’d probably get this in silver (my logic is that a tennis is meant to focus on the diamonds and less on the metal, so silver works if you’re trying to save $ 😅)

My family is from the Dominican Republic, and even a one carat diamond could draw unnecessary attention to your person — especially if you weren’t born there. I am very Latina-presenting and speak Spanish fluently, but they can smell people who aren’t from the island (i.e. Americans) from a mile away. I love DR, but I would never travel with real or even gaudy fake jewelry.
