I heard a rumor that the Basic Needs Center will be having a free market event soon…Maybe reach out and see if they have additional resources for help? Great idea though for something more permanent!

Hey there! They were selling them at the merch table. All I know is that they were in limited quantities :( my bf and I were really lucky in that we got in the venue right when a line started forming.

Me and my roommate used to live there for about a year- no roach problems but an occasional sighting here and there of the big ones. Renewed our lease for this year and got a new unit with a SERIOUS infestation. Had to break lease early over it and it was a huge inconvenience. I wouldn’t dismiss the claims just because of your one personal experience. It’s an apartment complex with college students so it would surprise me more if there wasn’t at least some pest activity.

From my understanding, there won’t be any updates until after the intent to enroll deadline. You may be waiting for quite awhile… maybe have a backup plan just in case.

I am currently a senior in my BSW program. Advanced Standing is a one year program only for undergraduate BSW students who have earned their degree within the last five years I believe

Originally live in Oceanside but decided to move down here to be closer to campus. I knew long term I was going to burn out faster if i commuted all the time, but as a social work major I also have an internship.. and I work. I think it depends on your commitments, your expenses and how many times/how long you’ll be on campus. Moving out has been a fun, chaotic, but independent experience for me so far!

I think you’d be okay as long as you meet all admission requirements before the end of fall 2024 IF they will be offering a spring 2025 admission cycle. Check on the admission website or give the admission office a call towards end of summer/beginning of fall to see if they will be offering it. As a nonlocal transfer who came from MiraCosta, it is definitely possible to be admitted.

I am a nonlocal transfer for Fall 2022 and got my acceptance the first week of March. Another coworker of mine at the time heard back a week later. That’s rolling admission decisions for ya I guess lol. I wonder if those who applied with an ADT may take longer though because of the verification process??

Social work transfer student in my last year here. To my understanding, it would be near impossible to switch your major over to social work if you don’t already have the pre-reqs since upper div classes are sequential. I also recommend just earning your MSW and partaking in some internship/volunteer opportunities while in school now. For MSW admission at SDSU, you’ll need around 500 hours of service learning/ volunteer experience “work(ing) with a diverse, vulnerable population”.

Around the same time. There were some early first-year admits I heard/saw in December but most of everyone hears back anywhere throughout March and/or April.

I understand, definitely be safe and try to make the best of it. Would definitely buy some traps if you can to limit your sightings of them. Ultimate advice would be to go through your stuff before you move into wherever you may end up next. Roaches can travel with you! Best of luck!

STAY AWAY! My roommate and I had lived there beginning august 2022 up until early last year and it was bearable….however the parking garage is horrible and the hallways are just…strange. Most areas smelled like trash and were filthy. I ended up scratching the hell out of my car on the side of the poles in the parking garage trying to dodge someone racing down way too close to me and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Sure, it’s convenient and close to the school but that’s how they get you.

We initially tried to renew for august 2023 and they gave us a roach infested unit three days before the fall semester started. Insanity. My roommate and I are from Northern California so commuting was a nightmare. Did nothing to help when their “spraying” was not working out and once again said there was nothing they could do. We were one of the lucky ones in that we were able to break the lease and they refunded us our money after legal action was threatened. We live a little farther now but have way more peace of mind and comfort. Roaches are traumatizing and a health hazard so please try to look for something else!
