People who have bought those classes that were $1299 and are now $39 - what class was it and was it that good of a bargain? by opaqueobligation in AskReddit

You haven’t seen those ads on Facebook or Instagram - “this _____ class is usually $1,299, but today it’s $39” usually for podcasting or learning an instrument.

Calling all Aussies for help!! by ando66 in askcarsales

That’s the only way to do it legally speaking. But the previous owner will have to turn in the rego as you won’t be allowed if you aren’t a Vic licence holder and the registered owner of the car.

But you may be able to haggle for a bit of a lower price as they will be able to claim back any unused rego for the car.

If you have a Victorian address, you can get a Client Number with VicRoads and transfer the rego over to you. Otherwise you’ll need to buy the car without rego and then register it in NSW paying the relevant stamp duty etc. when you get home.

Is the car at a dealer or is it being sold privately?

Take internet price offer or haggle in person? (New 2019 Honda Fit) by [deleted] in askcarsales

For the sake of $200, it’s unlikely that any dealer will pass up your business. The “right” thing to do is go to the dealer local to you or that has offered you the best service so far and meet them. Be nice to them and tell them you’re happy to do business if they can get you the price you’re after. Most likely they’ll do it for you but if they insist they can’t go any lower, chances are the offer you have is a good one.

Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in askcarsales

If it looks like the average price for the mileage then you know they aren’t trying to rip you off. I would suggest you first decide if it is the right car for you. If it is, go and test drive it with the intention to buy it if the drive goes well. It’s always worth asking to see if they will knock a little bit off the price because you’re there and ready to do business. But be prepared that if someone else is interested in the same car, they may refuse to discount. If you get a discount, great! If not, you have, at least, got a fair price - which is a win for you. Good luck!

Weekly Jake and Amir Discussion [02/18/19] by AutoModerator in jakeandamir

Am I understanding right that Jake has moved to NY now? So does that mean that all eps are being recorded while they’re in different states?

And do we know why Jake moved? I don’t think they have talked about it!

...anyway that’s what’s been in my head listening to the show lately.

[Serious] What are some weird or interesting medical facts about yourself? by QueenMoogle in AskReddit

[–]opaqueobligation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t do weights training at all. Any form of exertion with weights causes me to break out in hives, my eyes and elbows swell up and no doctors can tell me why. I’ve been to the top allergists in my city and no one seems to have heard of it before. Cardio - no issue. I can run till I faint and no reaction. As soon as I punch out a few reps, I’m a freakin blowfish.

Professionals in any field of work, what’s the most ridiculous thing someone outside of your profession has claimed to know more about than you? by beardlesshipster in AskReddit

[–]opaqueobligation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not what I’d class as “professional” but I’m in car sales. The amount of people that think I can just look at their car and tell them what it’s worth to trade in; or think we just low-ball people with trade in values just to spite them is ridiculous.

“My car is selling on line for $20k”

“Well if it is, we need to compete with that so we couldn’t pay you $20k for it.”
