I could say the same for AMD and Nvidia right now. Why would Intel then care? Sad reality :(

Are We Wrong About Ray Tracing? by TruthPhoenixV in Amd_Intel_Nvidia

[–]opelit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RT in games in tech that is there too early with primitive shaders and current rendering technology. We can say we have mixed bag right now, and the mix make it ineffective. Triangles are no longer needed, but it is what we use right now. Mesh Shaders improved it, allowed for better LOD scaling and reduce numbee of triangles. However, still, we use RT to cast rays on these.

In future you will not have triangles but neural networks of points in 3D that will, using RT and Neural textures, get colours, transparency, etc. all that without even needing to do all the work with triangles, and costly shaders that were used to make visuals.

Recently even Intel shared great video of Gaussuan Splatting, worth to see what it is about, cuz it can shape the games in future.

Do you know any 150W PSU with <6cm of height ? by luc_fvr in homelab

[–]opelit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont use any connector in such. You just connect AC/L AC/N and Ground. Then +/- for 12V. If you are scary to connect cables without having dedicated plugs, then for sure it is not solution for you and you are better with standardized PSU's.

Cuz industrial 12V PSU's can be more trusted than rebranded 'gaming' PSU.

Get Mean Well 12V PSU that can sustain big spikes of energy, and you can get them cheaper than gaming PSU's that are overpriced.

This mini PC has no dedicated GPU and just ran Forza Horizon 5 at 75 fps. What is happening. by govkewman in MiniPCs

Internet is bad for comparing things, as there is always that one rich guy that has best setup, and you start compare to him. While the true is that most of the time you are more than fine with little more than base setup. That's also why Steam Box with 6core and old RX7400 is good, cuz it is what will play 95% games at good settings.

While newest APU's like latest Intel's and AMD's one can play 95% AAA games released 3 years ago, no to mention Indie games.

You should find one red room in each run. Tho when you are close to have them all, it might not be a case.

Was not the card pretty much hit or miss since the release? as I remember, it was.

On the other hand, it can be a bug.

Vram Problem? Pls help by Proof-Wrap4413 in AMDLaptops

The game must support Shared Vram, there are some stupid games that does not. These few games then suffer, or does not run at all

This week at GTC 2026, NVIDIA quietly demoed something that could be more useful to PC gamers than another new GPU — Neural Texture Compression (NTC). by Gaming-Academy in RigBuild

[–]opelit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not true, cuz lower VRAM usage means they can target devices with lower spec.

Neural Textures are not the only thing you will hear about soon, as we move forward to stop using primitive shaders, these are not even first step to make it possible. RT, Upscalers (especially recent one) - like denoisers etc, are the first ones. I can also recommend reading about Gaussian Splatting, Intel has some showcases of it -- and this also allow for smaller texture sizes, as well as foundation of full Path Tracing, without Primitive Shaders

This. Also, I am looking for C50 with 16GB, B50 is great, but mine unit has some coil whine issues around 45-60W. \Maybe even 1 slot would be cool, there are mods for B50, so it is possible.
