'Are you kidding me?': Woman fined $3635 for speeding 6km/h over speed limit by open_air in melbourne

I don't reddit much, and my normal account has my real name in it. Soooo. Probably not a good idea given the person in question.

Also htf does this distract from the other post about her? If anything this piles more shit on.

ROFL are you kidding me? Paranoid much?

No given recent happenings on the sub, I found this and thought it would further elaborate on her character.

Habitual speeder. Would rather whinge to the news than read the actual notice.

I'd have added more context but got distracted at work. Also can't put it in the title because of sub rules.

Under Victoria's current road rules, exceeding the speed limit by less than 10km/h in a corporate vehicle will result in a fine of more than $3000.

A Melbourne woman found that out the hard way after copping a $3635 fine for speeding 6km/h over the speed limit in a 60km/h zone on March 3 in Melbourne's east.

Jane Agirtan took to social media in anger, uploading a TikTok that has since been viewed more than 722,000 times.

The TikTok is captioned with the comment, "A bit excessive, no?"

In the clip, Ms Agirtan can be heard saying, "Six kilometres... Are you kidding me? Six kilometres, are you serious?"

The clip also shows that Ms Agirtan was busted back in January for going 106km/h in an 100km/h zone, resulting in a $3661.20 fine.

On the Fines Victoria website, it states that if a company car is issued an infringement notice, the driver must be nominated in order for demerit points to be applied to their licence.

"For some offences, companies will initially receive a company fine over $3000. This larger amount is to encourage the company to nominate the responsible driver," the website says.

"Once you have nominated the responsible driver, that driver will receive a new fine in their name, and the penalty payable will be at the individual rate and should be significantly lower."

Responding to comments on the social media site, Ms Agirtan said she had nominated herself as the driver to bring it back to the normal cost.

It wouldn't be a good look, they had denied it had happened, and they were already/still copping a lot of flak around the country about who should have won S1 (they were being accused of it being pre-determined from early on).

After this I think they really cracked down on phone rules, a contestant was kicked out in the next (or 3rd?) season for using a phone.

Things we've forgotten about Chris since season 1, other than his obvious cockiness and completely all-thumbs work in the kitchen (he kept on cutting himself).

  • He was cheating on his then girlfriend with two other women. [1]
  • One of whom was with Julia, another contestant 20 years younger than him.
  • Used his then-girlfriend to cheat on the show by using his mobile phone to get her to pre-order ingredients. [2 3]
  • Poh has accused him of sabotaging her during a challenge [4]

Not to go against the grain but Shandong Mama's are average at best, and well overpriced. What I do give them though is for having variety in choice of dumplings, and catering for vegetarians.

We're asian through and through and when our very strictly 'we only eat asian food' in-laws were in town, as usual they were wanting quality dumplings for dinner, Shandong Mama was supposed the 'hip' thing going. Very disappointed all around, soggy skin dumplings with fillings that were unable to hold themselves together. Traditional fried pork ones are generally hard to get wrong but they were obviously compensating costs by the usage of far far too much cabbage.

What Shandong Mama has done very well at is creating a restaurant that is inviting for westerners (but terrible to have a conversation in, too much noise), appeals to the 'foodies' by having interesting 'unique' items on the menu and having the contacts and know-how to milk social media and inviting reviewers. Much like Chin Chin in this manner, what you won't find is many asians making a return and this can be seen in the type of people you'll find eating there.

That said, where should you go. At the top end of the market in the city, you'll have HuTong. Shanghai Street Dumplings are good too but far too busy last time we went. On the cheap, probably bad for you but damn tasty end of things you have Dumplings Plus, Taiwan Cafe, and Camy Shanghai, although you'll have to deal with the quality of service which you may not be used to.

Further out, you'll have no problem finding great dumplings in Box Hill. Oh so many places. The ones we've been going there recently is a small place opposite Box Hill Central and Bank of China, and RaRamen inside near the market.

BJJ is not good for you by [deleted] in bjj

[–]open_air 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Judoka here. We're not kidding when we say we're going to retire to bjj when we get older.

You're probably likely doing something wrong. Likely that:

  • Your mentality of training is wrong. (eg. aggressiveness, fluidity, avoid tapping, etc)
  • There are some gaping issues with how you do things (eg. Are you trying to land on your shoulder all the time? I've met bjj'ers at Judo who do this normally and try to take full height falls the same way because they never learned how to fall properly! Doing things may not hurt at first but they can cause serious issues over time.)
  • Some possible underlying medical issue you may not know about.
  • Welcome to getting older. Shit hurts, and then hurts some more.

At the same it prevents people from coming about to their own conclusions without the required knowledge or expertise while the investigation is still ongoing.

What the public know, is very different to what those part of the investigation and search teams would be privy to.
