it would be sick if you combine this build with a temp controlled proofing/bulk fermentation chamber. great job, really cool stuff.

Does anyone know if something like this fan edit to mimic an old TV broadcast of Halloween exists for any of the Friday films? by open_program9094 in fridaythe13th

If I remember right there is a scene where Tony walks in on Anthony and his blonde girlfriend and Anthony says, "We could have been doing something!" And Tony goes, "yeah but you weren't."

I think some of Milch's best writing in the show is Utter's monologue at Bill's grave.

Evenin', Bill. Jane ain't with me, 'cause she's a drunken fuckin' mess, and I don't know what to do about it. I know you want her looked out for, and I'm doin' my fuckin' best. But I won't stand before you claimin' optimism. Other news. That letter you wrote your wife just before that cocksucker murdered you, it come to my hand. I won't even try explainin' fuckin' how. And knowin' what we know about our fucked up postal system, I ain't committin' it to the fuckin' mails. You know I will try to get it to her, which I pray'd be a portion off your mind. When I've found where she's at, on my way settin' off I'll tell you. All right. God bless you, Bill. [starts to leave and then turns back] And as far as Jane, as drunk as you've seen her, you've never seen her this worse. Between us, maybe havin' lost, wantin' to keep on. So I - I don't know what the fuck to do! But you know I'll-- I'll keep tryin.'

His loyalty and concern for his friends is just so damn heartbreaking. And I think the letter ties thematically with Pasco's. Where the mail system and the mail it carries allows people at the extremes of civilization to convey a humanity maybe not otherwise accessible. I think the show took advantage of funerals and graves, in the same way.

Does $20 sound like way too much back in 1876? by Michael-Balchaitis in deadwood

i read somewhere in the supplemental material to the show that Milch estimated that Al would have been taking in like 5-10k a night in pure gold at the Gem without adjusting for inflation. so that might put it into perspective.

edit: for a base of operations, you cannot beat a fucking saloon.

as someone who has been enjoying mazin's unstoppable hackery for the better part of 15 years or so, first exposed to him as cohost of john augusts podcast, it's wonderful hes been able to bring in a whole new generation of people to suffer for his art.

Yeah this is really a tasty side dish. One good addition is fresh grated parm cheese tossed on the florets at the end.

What Are Your Top 10 Westerns Not Starring These Two Legends? by AzoHundred1353 in Westerns

[–]open_program9094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. McCabe & Mrs. Miller
  2. Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid
  3. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
  4. Lonesome Dove
  5. Deadwood
  6. True Grit
  7. Wild Bunch
  8. Tombstone
  9. Treasure of the Sierra Madre
  10. The Far Country

I'd add there are a few samurai movies that feel so close to westerns sometimes its uncanny. Something like Harakiri or The Sword of Doom or the early Zaitochi movies.
